Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Almost opaque dark brown beer. Vibrant cream - tan head. Palate is softish, light and airy. Mild fine carbonation. Soft creamy rich malt. Little caramel and toffee. Light dried fruits. Alcohol spice - but it’s never hot. Whiskey fruits and spices before a light dry finish. A sumptuos beer which keeps handle on it’s big abv and manages to remain light and very quaffable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle big thanks to Ken. It pours darkest amber with a thick tan head. The nose is toast, earth, pine, varnish, plenty of dark fruit, toffee, vanilla and toasted cocoa. The taste is toffee, candy, toast, earth, wood, vanilla, hot cross bun, raisin, dried fig, oily and molasses with a dry, sweet finish. Medium-full body, fine prickly carbonation and viscous mouth-feel. An interesting and flavoursome beer for sure, but far too sweet for me to enjoy much of.

Bottle cheers to Kenny for this. Have really enjoyed these Prairie beers. Pours black with a short, firm tan head leaving very nice lacing. Nose is big on date and sultana, dark fruit focus is pleasing with some sweet vanilla and milk chocolate. Touch of brown sugar and coconut coming thorugh. Taste is sweet and stewed/caramelised fruits - sultana, fig, date, raisin. Silky milk chocolate with a bitter sweet feel to it. Plenty of vanilla and mild coconut. Creamy mouth feel with a long and enjoyable finish. Very nice stuff

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London - big thanks to Kenneth. Pours brown-black with a tight, creamy tan head. Dark bread on the nose with notes of burnt wood, toasted toffee, dried dark fruits, molasses and cocoa. Medium to big sweet flavor with lots of molasses, toffee, lightly burned wood, dark fruits. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warm finish but not nearly has hot as you might expect, lots more toffee and molasses, dark fruits, touches of earth, figs. Solid. Great balance for the strength.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled. Nose of bourbon, some coffee, caramel. Tart, hoppy flavor. Very sweet and a bit harsh. Doesn’t really seem to work yet--needs time to come together. Too green and boozy.
