Bottle thanks to northernbrews for sharing. Reddish-brown pour with a small fizzy head that quickly fades to a ring. Aroma is packed with oak and vanilla along with some nuts and toffee. Taste has a strong oak and vanilla barrel character just like the aroma. Hints of brown sugar and toffee sneak through. Fairly smooth. Light fizzy carbonation and a little creamy. Solid beer and I was surprised to find out this is 13%. Felt a lot lighter.

Bottle: Thanks... Jason? Jeff? Not sure. But thanks to whomever it was. Super deep, swampy & nearly opaque brown-ish body, the khaki foam on top settles quickly to a mildly chunky collar. Aroma has notes of nuts, toasty caramel, aromatic & boozy whiskey, faint licorice, toffee, & a drying oak finish. Taste is almost maple syrupy up front, leading quickly into stronger notes of wood, caramel, nuts, & powerful bouts of oak that has been soaked heavily in whiskey. Brown sugary sweetness plays a nice balance to the booze, leading into a finish with unexpected notes of dried, dark fruit & honey. Lighter bodied, a little thin at 13% ABV, medium-high carbonation. Better than expected, honestly - a pretty enjoyable barreled brown ale.

750ml. Brown cola pour with off white head. Nose is nutty with plenty of barrel, booze, and malt. Taste follows the nose with some hints of vanilla. Good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: The aroma consists of chocolate, nuts, caramel, oak, and whiskey. It pours a dark brown with some orange highlights and a small beige head that quickly fades to a thin film. The flavor starts with chocolate, toffee, brown sugar, and caramel. The finish has whiskey, roasted nuts, and light vanilla.

Bottle @ Dean to Mouth tasting, courtesy of kermis. Pours a pitch black beer with a thin beige head on top. Aroma of bourbon barrel, oak, licorice and roast. Touches of vanilla and malts are also in there. Flavor is very sweet, vanilla, alchohol and big bourbon characters as well. Long, sweet aftertaste. Very nice beer!

750 ml bottle shared on the RBWG bus. Thanks! Pours a hazy chestnut color with a tan head. Notes of oak, caramel malts, brown sugar, spices, earth, chocolate, and tannins. A hint of funk. There actually is a big cedar-like note in this, too. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a sweet mouthfeel. Some whiskey warmth, but not a lot.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2014 750mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours a deep dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out intense whiskey barrels, caramelized sugar, and loads of maple. Flavour brings out quite a lot of maple, caramelized sugar, whiskey, alcohol, and a touch of coffee. The alcohol is completely shown, all 13%. Highly carbonated. A bit over the top. Decent, but too brutal.

Aroma of wood, caramel, light raisin and overripe dark fruit. Flavour is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle shared at THT thanks to kermis. Pours dark brown. Aroma is vanilla, chocolate, floral, wood and caramel. Big red fruits afterwards. Quite sweet, heavy bitter. Full bodied, amazing. Long sweet finish.
