Pours dark brown with a low tan head. Aromas of raisins, caramel, muscovado sugar, roasted nuts, fudge, ripe apple. Taste is quite sweet with ripe fruity notes and a strong malty backbone. Mouthfeel is oily and sticky with low carbonation. Very good!

Bottle. Pours a murky brown with a fading light brown bubbly head. Aroma is of sweet whiskey, nuts, vanilla, pine, toffee. Taste is packed with more sweet whiskey, light hints of caramel, but flavours, vanilla, hint of pine and treacle, slightly bitter finish. Sticky, light oily mouthfeel, soft to medium carbonation.

Bottle in trade from Rightcross55, thanks Matt. Brown caramel pour. Huge whiskey aroma with some sweetness. Taste is really smooth, boozy but rich and slight caramel. Really amazing.

35cl bottle. Dark caramel brown with a very thin beige head. Aroma includes whiskey, milk chocolate, toffee, bourbon and vanilla. The taste is very smooth and balanced, with notes of whiskey, bourbon, oak, vanilla, toffee, caramel, milk chocolate, maple syrup and molasses. The alcohol is very well hidden, only noticeable in the aftertaste. Super smooth mouthfeel with very low carbonation and a milk chocolate sweet aftertaste. Right up my alley, thank you, Prairie Artisan Ales.

Bottle at Whole Foods, Katy. Dark clear brown with very little khaki head. Aroma of caramel, vanilla, whiskey barrel, and cocoa. Taste is sweet and boozy barrel with a very light bitterness. Full bodied, smooth, and pretty hot. Good stuff.

Not a great looking beer. Dirty orange/brown with almost no head. Smell is dried fruits like plums, peaches, raisins, banana. Lots of hazel nuts, caramel and some little toffee. And of course vanilla, coconut, whisky from BA that are well pronounced. Oily and quite thick without much carbonation. Sweet with alcohol. But well rounded. Finish has a bit smoke like smoked plums. Nice stuff.

A 12 fl oz bottle with a Julian bottled on date of 15215, meaning it was bottled on 1st June 2015. It was poured into a Moonzen teku glass. It poured a cloudy dark reddish brown colour with a less than one finger tanned head that dissipated quickly and left some sparse lacing. Aromas are rich with bourbon, oak, caramel, toffee, vanilla and roasted malt. Tastes much like the aroma, sweet toffee, caramel and vanilla with a hit of bourbon and oak. There was also a hint of dark fruits, plum, raisin and fig on the finish. Mid to full bodied but leaning more towards full with low carbonation. Overall, a very nice brown ale as the bourbon, oak and sweet notes of toffee and caramel went well together. The 12% is not felt at all and goes down easy. Brown ale is not a style that has a great name, but this brew definitely redeems it.
