even a year out this one was pretty hot, but overall an interesting variation on a brown ale.

Campfire in cape cod, poured into a tulip. Oaked bouurbon brown ale magnifecence.

Bottle thanks to Dan. Aroma is vanilla and a slight booze with a caramel and toasty note. Pour is a brown color with off white head. Taste is sweet with a vanilla and booze and caramel biscuit. Pretty good.

Sample @ RBWG, Asheville. Brownish pour with a small head. Very ashy, rustic nose. Roasted malts, forest fire. Some buggy wood and red fruits. Jammy raspberry and leaf pile. A bit of hot butterscotch and vanilla-coated pear. Woody. Medium body, soft carbonation. Interesting.

Pours a deep brown with a good head and nice lacing on the glass.

The aroma has a lot of vanilla and bourbon, lots of caramel, some light roastiness and is generally rich and aromatic all around. It is a touch tame on alcohol character for as big as it is.

The flavor is roasty with lots of rich caramel and bourbon notes. It’s very sweet, booze, bourbon, and vanilla forward all the way... but enjoyably so.
Just a really fun example of a bourbon treatment.

Hazy deep brown red. Vibeous nose with some caramel. Light brown colored head. Toasted smell. Taste is boozy with some wine and wood. Notes of toasty caramel. Fantastic.

Bottle. Hazy deep brown liquid with medium light tan head. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate, bourbon, wood, raw sugar, toffee and bread. Taste is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, wood and raw sugar. Full bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty nice.

Bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. Deep brown, near-black body with a large creamy off-white head. Nose is bourbon, vanilla, peanuts, oak, caramel, mild chocolate and hints of grains and toffee. Taste is chocolate, wood, caramel, bourbon, alcohol, vanilla, grains and hints of peanuts and mild leathery notes. Full body, medium to high carbonation. Dry, oaky finish. Strong stuff, and fairly well balanced with loads of nuances. I like it a lot.

My Bottom Line:
This complex, luxurious Barrel-Aged Imperial Brown Ale delights with its rich malt and barrel flavors, spanning from vanilla to hazelnut, from dulce de leche to cushy barley.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam covers the cloudy deep brown.
-Mouthfeel is beautifully cushy.
-Whisky notes also caress the palate.
-I think this is a standout in their already marvelous lineup.

Bottle.
