4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle for rating #5900:   Pours black, thin to moderate foamy beige head, spotty lacing.   Big roasty nose, sweet, big time barrel aging, coffee, charred wood, and rum round it out.   Smells pretty tasty!   Strong sweet roastiness on the tongue, along with notes of rum, some vanilla and dark chocolate.   Pretty damn delicious!   Not a real heavy stout, body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes with a big sweet roastiness, sweetened coffee, some vanilla and dark chocolate, as well as a bit of rum.   Also seems a bit woody too.   Hard to believe this one is 15%.   Smooth, flavorful, and way too easy to drink.   Great stuff!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured a black color with aromas of chocolate, rum, vanilla, light peppers and some earth. Flavors are light chocolate and vanilla with some light heat from the peppers. Tons of rum in this one with some light coconut but the main flavor was rum.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle (12 oz). From pandableh, thanks Dan! Dark brown with a medium mostly lasting beige head and some lacing. Aroma is of harsh coffee at first, but it then settle and become very interesting... coffee, vanilla, dark chocolate, hints of chilies, rum and light sweetness notes. Taste is slightly sweet with dark chocolate, rum, light spiciness, vanilla, coffee, subtle chilies and a fun warming finish. Full body. Moderate carbonation. Velvety mouthfeel. Very good balance considering everything that is going on in this one. Complex. Enjoyable. Chilies are well integrated.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
I had a one ounce pour at the RateBeer Gallery 2 and refused to rate it. Now I get to try it side by side out of the bottle with regular Bomb! Pours an opaque black with a small tan head, a bit bubbly, dissipates fairly quickly to a ring but whats left leaves nice lacing. Aroma is the definition of a 10 - beautiful mix of rum, cocoa, chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts. Flavor doesnít quite live up to that promise, but it is rich, decadent, medium sweet and light bitter, chocolate, rum vanilla gives a hint of Christmas. Chili peppers kind of getting lost in the barrel treatment, however. Very light astringency from the oak. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Perhaps a bit less complex than the original, but world class nonetheless.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nearly black pour with lasting caramel colored head. Aroma is strong coffee, chocolate, ashy roast. Flavor caries the aroma as well as vanilla, alcohol, toffee, and some chili.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle shared with bytemesis, huge thank you. Black, very very little brown head. Amazing aroma, rich rum-barrel aroma takes over the characteristics of the regular bomb, chocolate remains. Smells a bit like a madeira. Flavor is more overly alcoholic than regular bomb. Vanilla-chocolate tones are still there, coffee more subdued, peppers even moreso. Very cool, more rich than regular bomb but less complex.

Stunning. Very smoky. I've had other smokey beer, but usually that quality is dominating. Here it is not.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Smells like fucking coffee. Taste starts out coffee. But then goes to vanilla. This is about halfway between the two bombs I had. First all coffee. Second all vanilla. Sadly I donít get any rum, touch of spice from the rum at the end. But no booze it barrel. Good. But I really donít see much beyond the regular.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at home. Pour is pitch black with a big brown head and great lacing. Big coffee, sweet cocoa, light pepper, vanilla, wood, somewhat spicy, graham crackers, caramel and birthday cake in the aroma. Taste is sweet dark chocolate, Sumatra, vanilla, marshmallows, light pepper, earthy hops, brown sugar and maple syrup. Syrupy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. An amazingly well balanced sweet, yet spicy, roasty and complex stout. Rum barrels are typically overpowering but this one melds the flavors together beautifully. Donít even get me started on the alcohol. This is one seriously delicious offering.

I was very excited to try this after being blown away by Prairie Bomb!
Typical big stout appearance. Near black with a thick, beige cap that leaves some sticky lacing around the snifter. Fabulous aroma. Coffee, roast, oak, booze. As expected / hoped, this is awesome. The rum character comes in late and while present, is another nuance rather than a dominant force. Creamy and smooth, yet bold and assertive. Beautifully blended and executed beer. Such balance and grace for such a huge abv beer. The folks at Prairie Artisan Ales truly have a good thing going. Wow.
