12 oz. bottle shared by Chris S. Thanks again, Chris! Pours an opaque midnight brown with a finger of dark tan that leaves some spots of lace in the glass and settles into a film. The aroma has notes of chocolate, vanilla, roast, pepper, dust, oak, coffee, and a little earthy spice. The flavor brings more of the rum sweetness and booze, which helps round this out; vanilla, caramel, raisin, oak, coffee, chiles, and cacao. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a dry, roasty, spicy mouthfeel. Nice improvement on the regular Bomb. I’m just not sold on the universal praise for this series, though.

Black oil like pour, no head. Aroma is pepper from chillies, rum and raisin. Taste is strong peppery quality up front, big dark chocolate , bitter coffee. Almost no barrel, very dry finish. As it warms the barrel looms out more and more. Overall, the chillies dominate a little too much here; needs more balance especially with some more pronounced barrel character.

Bottle shared with Meilby. Thanks! Poured a clear black with no head. This was very close to the well known "Tia Maria" in the nose. A coffee liqueur, but naturallly this beer had more to offer. Tastes bitter sweet, slightly sugary with an airy oily palate and a noticeable chili afterburn. Delicious!

Bottle at home. I found this beer to be perfect for my 6666th rating. It pours opaque jet black with a small very creamy dense brown head. The aroma is loaded with chocolate and chili peppers mixed with hard roasted malts and cocoa. Some oak notes and ripe berries. Creamy texture. Smooth flavor of roasted malts, cocoa and it’s quite hot chili like. More than I remember from the unbarreled version. I don’t really get a lot of rum notes here. Some oak and light vanilla.

On tap at Schouskjelleren. Pitch black , ok brownish foam. High aroma intensity; choclate, Kahlua, coffee, chili and some roasted aromas. Full body & high complexity . Quite sweet , some bitterness- ends up on the sweet side. Very Enjoyable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

17/01/2015. Bon anniversaire Max! Un peu too much.
