Aroma of coffee and cacao, roast, with some faint raisin rum character. Taste is vanilla and a short lasting burning sensation, fudge, chocolate and an earthy quality, the rum character is very faint and gives more so this oaky brown sugar side to the beer. This beer has literally zero alcohol taste, without drinking anything before, supersmooth with a very nice thick texture, only lacking a bit more taste.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2014 Pours pitch black with low tan head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, cocos, rum, muscovado. Taste is rich, sweet and boozy with huge rum barrel finish. Body is rich, creamy and sticky with soft carbonation.

330 ml. bottle from Trappist Provisions. It pours jet black with a light brown head. The aroma and flavor are very similar to regular bomb with dark chocolate, vanilla, hints of chile spice and mild hints of oak and alcohol. The flavor is the same. Super thick and syrupy with mild spice and big chocolate. Hints of vanilla and pretty mild barrel character. To be honest, I had a bit of a hard time drinking this whole bottle. I think there was just a little too much going on. The alcohol and thick body was just a bit over the top for me. Just a few ounces would be enough.

12 oz bottle poured into a snifter. Non-waxed bottle with October stamped on the bottle, most likely 2014. 14% ABV per the label. Black with half a finger of tan head. Aromas of big dark chocolate and fudge, burnt sugar, light rum, roasted coffee. Tastes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, light rum, caramel. Full body with a dry finish. Good and the alcohol is well masked, but I think it could use a bit more barrel character.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2014 Bottle shared by kermis @ Kermis’ birthday party. Opaque pitch black color, dark brown head. Aroma is huge, huge espresso and roast, roasted malts, liquor, dark chocolate, cocoa. Taste malts, roasted malts, some peppers, huge espresso and huge roast again, rhum, wood, dark chocolate and cocoa are all over this beer as well and it’s very bitter but the chocolate, whilst bitter itself, compensates that somehow. Hard to put into words but this beer is incredibly intense. The peppers aren’t my thing and I think without them I would have rated this beer 4.5+ for sure, but even with them it is fantastic. Oily texture, full body, suitable carbonation. Intense and lovely. Huge thanks Chris!

11/19/14. Small bottle. Pretty black pour under a small and short lived tan head with very minimal lacing. A very rich aroma, boozy rum does hit my nostrils, chocolate brownies, vanilla, coffee. Rich flavor, perhaps a touch sweet, rum, chocolate brownies, vanilla, plenty of spicy pepper, more chocolate, a bit of acidity, lingering fruitiness, coffee, and pepper spice. Not bad!

12oz bottle to snifter. Thick pour with a little tan ring. Huge flavors of coffee and sweetness. Mildly spicy with unusual but awesome notes from the rum barrel.
