Bottle. Pours a pitch black with a small, but nice brown head. Aroma has lots of sweet chocolate notes, roasty coffee, vanilla, slight boozy rum character, but it honestly could get confused with bourbon. Slight tobacco as well. Taste is pretty sweet from the barrel character, but it also has some very dark chocolaty and roasted malty notes. Also almost ashy coffee, but not in a bad way. Ends off bitter from all these roasty stuff. Very nice chili heat in the end as well. Big mouthfeel and very low carbonation. Good stuff indeed!!

Pours like syrup. Big, black and thick. Those nose shows a lot of chocolate and hints of espresso. But the cacao nibs take the superstar spotlight here. The palate shows much of the same but the heat from the peppers appear on the back end to create a warm finish. Perfect for the winter season. Delicious and highly recommend for stout lovers.

Bottle shared with adnielsen via HeyKevin, Thanks Aaron and Kevin! Pours a black color with light tan head. Dark chocolate, rum, roasty aromas. Chocolate, dark fruit, rum, roasty, alcohol flavors. A little goopy and alcohol burn.

Bottle @ home. Christmas Eve 2014 with jcnielsen. Thanks to HeyKevin. Pours a black appearance with a thin brown head. Rich burnt chocolate, dark chocolate, vanilla in the nose with lots of roast. Thick mocha chocolate, light caramel, some spiciness, roasted coffee flavor with some vanilla near the finish. Similar to the newer batches of Bomb which just don’t seem as vibrant and have a stronger char element. Still pretty good.

Bottle to glass. Pours a pitch black color with a thin rim of brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, burnt coffee, touch of chile pepper. Flavor is the same, but a bit more of the cocoa sweetness comes through. Medium to heavy body with a lingering burnt roasty bitterness with a nice chile pepper burn in the very end. Not sure I notice the rum barrel qualities, but this is one tasty brew!
