Pirate bomb is our beer Prairie Bomb! aged in rum casks. The flavor from the casks helps impart more vanilla and coconut flavors to the beer while helping to add more body and smoothness to the already explosive and expressive flavors of Bomb!

Bottle. Poured a dark brown color with an off white head. This sums it up -> WOW. This is one fantastic beer. Vanilla, chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, and just all around goodness. Alcohol content hidden. WOW.

Not bad but I think prairie bomb is still superior. I'm not a huge rum fan though

Bottle at Cask P & K. 400th rating deserved a special one. Little heavy on the chilli at the and, but the rum character makes this for me. Super smooth also at this ABV. Big coffee in the middle, big vanilla, then the booze and chilli in the finale. Touch sweet but top gear.

Baczka. Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzysta. Piana beżowa, drobno pęcherzykowa, utrzymująca się do samego końca. Niesamowity, intensywny aromat wanilii, kawy, czekolady, palonych słodów przy mocno zmrożonym piwie. W smaku olbrzymia słodycz. Kakao, wanilia, rodzynki, orzechy. Istne bogactwo smaku. Trunek grzeje w przełyk, wyczuwalne gryzące przełyk papryczki ale dosłownie przez chwile. Wysoka goryczka, niezalegająca. Niesamowicie gęste, aksamitne a zaraz gładkie. Trunek doskonały o niesamowitym bukiecie i smaku. Do długiej degustacji.

Bottled, thanks rlgk! Pitch black, beige head. Green pepper and coconut up front. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Green pepper, coconut and chilli, lots of chocolate sauce. Intense chili heat in the finish.

Lane na 2. Warszawskim Festiwalu Piwa.

12oz bottle from CPK, London. It pours a deep dark brown color with no head to speak of. IF swirled, some small mocha bubbles appear. Aroma is intensely chocolatey and quite sweet, with strong notes of vanilla, espresso, dark chocolate, raisins, rum oak, some chili burn. Taste is again bold, sweet, little boozy, with more dark chocolate, raisins, vanilla, rum, oak, espresso and chilies in the finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, a blast of flavours, certaily not a well balanced subtle beer, but the different flavours work well together. Similar to Fred’s blend with less bourbon notes and more espresso and chilies.

Keg at CBC Clerko, 15/04/15. Black topped with a decent tan swirl. Nose is rich roasted tone, chocolate, light spice, sweet notes, earthy, toffee fudge. Taste comprises dark chocolate, dark fruits, raisens, light spice, coffee, subtle chilli heat, moderate BA notes. Full bodied, fine carbonation, lightly warming alcohol in the close with a trace of spice. Solid impy, good balance, all comes together well!

Pitch black, brown head. Chocolate, chilli and ashtray aroma. Bitter taste with a hint of sweetness that is quickly gobbled up by a very spicy long lingering finish. Low carbonation with a thick and slightly oily mouthfeel. When you start to get used to the spiciness as the beer warms up, some alcohol starts to shine through.

Pours black as oil, heavy with slight head. Aroma lots of roasted coffee, cocoa, molasses and a hint of chilli and booze. Taste is lot’s of coffee, then some cocoa. Quite sweet but the chilli cuts the sweetness and is subtle. I could taste the rum in the heat from the alcohol at the end. it was nice and warming. Think and viscous, but could be creamier.

Half on keg in CBC Covent Garden. Opaque very dark brown with a thick creamy foam chocolate brown head. Looks great. Nose is rich dark chocolate, black ground coffee, sweet coffee liqueur, rich roasted malt, burnt malts and coffee grounds, chocolate syrup. Taste is rich, rich, rich. Sweet dark chocolate, big roasted malt, roasted coffee, chocolate syrup, buttery and golden syrup. Finish is combination of dry bitter roasted malts and buttery sweet golden syrup. This is an excellent beer. My only criticism is the golden syrup taste which makes it a touch too sweet for me.
