Prairie Ale is our classic saison. We brew this beer with pilsner malt, wheat malt, flaked wheat, and cane sugar. A healthy dose of saaz hops are used to add a spicy element to the beer. Prairie Ale is fermented with a mix of ale yeast, wine yeast, and brettanomyces. Notes of black pepper and pineapple can be found in this beer.

Popped out of the bottle with a burst of foaming head. Pours a white, very frothy head atop a cloudy yellow gold body. Nose is yeasty and peppery. Very lemony, peppery yeast. Very refreshing. Purchased at Metro Liquors University Heights for ~$13.

Opaque yellow with a pillowy white head. Enticing aromas of spicy yeast esters. Lively carbonation; effervescent; light, bright and clean. Zinger notes of lemon, flowers, spices, pepper and herbs. Just the right amount of yeast funkiness to give it depth. Aftertaste is dry and moderately bitter. Tremendously delicious and refreshing saison.

500mL bottle. A hazy old gold pour with a massively thick and fizzy off-white head. The yeasty, slightly funky aroma features lots of zesty citrus rinds, lemon juice, oranges, pears, candi sugar, pepper, coriander, cheese, dried apricots, and old pineapples - complex to say the least. Goes down thin to medium-bodied and bubbly. Pears and candi sugar upfront in the taste. A yeasty, sharp cheesy Brett middle. Zesty citrus rinds, oranges, and lemons at the end. Funky with some pepper, vinous notes, and just a touch of warming alcohol the whole way through. Quality.

Bottle. Light yellow colour with frothy white head. Aroma is citrus, pineapple, grass, herbs and light notes of funk. Taste is light funk, belgian yeast, a hint of pepper and grass, finishes slight bitter with a bit of a citurs kick. This is extremely refreshing and very well done.

Af krana á Skúla. Klukkan fer að síga í bjór hjá öðrum borgarbúum en hér eru þrjú borð þéttsetin og virðast ætla að halda því áfram. Portishead er hipp. Þessi bjór er líka hipp. Hann er hvass!

750ml bottle I’d had in the cellar for about 6 months or so. Pours a very hazy gold with lots of frothy, white head. Nose has a lot of white white character, white grape, grassy, straw, dusty, some mild tropical fruit, some citrus peel, some yeast. Flavor follows right along, grassy, straw, citrus zest, yeast, some white flour, some buttery oak, white grape. Creamy, refreshing finish. Very nice. Drinks MUCH easier than 8.2%.
