Prairie Ale is our classic saison. We brew this beer with pilsner malt, wheat malt, flaked wheat, and cane sugar. A healthy dose of saaz hops are used to add a spicy element to the beer. Prairie Ale is fermented with a mix of ale yeast, wine yeast, and brettanomyces. Notes of black pepper and pineapple can be found in this beer.

This beer looks really good... beautiful. Taste is ok. Overall, not a beer I would seek out.

P: A murky organic apple cider body with a billowing mountain of off white creamy froth. S: Musty wood, dirt, aged potpourri, lemon curd, clove, white pepper, coriander, timid vinegar funk and faint lime. T/M: Taste follows the nose and delivers big spices with a nice subtle floral and citrus zest hop flavor. Bret funk forward but clean and complementing. Well balanced flavors deliver a smooth dry saison that is sure to please. Medium creamy body with kisses of carbonation and a soapy hop finish. Hints of rose petals in grain alcohol once warned. O: A great saison from a great new brewery that is producing some fantastic stuff. I love that Oklahoma is growing in the craft beer realm. With this being the first beer brewed by Praire I am anxious to try the rest. Cheers!

Bottle @ home. Cloudy yellow, small white head that settles nicely, nice lacing. Aroma, malts, brett, fruity, citrus, peach. Taste, malty, brett, fruity, citrus, peach, a tiny bit of alcohol. Bitter sour aftertaste. But i am disappointed about the alcohol, makes it seem unbalanced.

Appearance: this beer has more head than any I can remember, takes a very long time to pour it down, head is white and very dense, it towers over the rim of the glass, beer is a hazy gold color, with large chunks of yeast on the bottom, laces like no other beer Aroma: lots of funk, barnyard, wild, light bread, light yeast Taste: smooth, alcohol on the finish, lemon, some bitterness on the finish as well, some sourness Palate: lively carbonation, heavy mouthfeel, leaves bitter alcohol aftertaste Overall: this is one of the longest pouring beers Iíve had, beer begins to overflow out the bottle as soon as I popped the cork, after smelling I thought it would have more complex flavors but itís battling against the strong alcohol flavor

Nice! Good dry, slightly funky saison. Champagne type carbonation with a little fruitiness and a dry chalky finish. Iím not sure it needed all this alcohol, but itís very good.

1/7/14. 500mL (ish) bottle from Johnís Grocery. Thanks, pepsican! Hazed golden orange pour with a super nice fluffy khaki head that sticks around forever and laces like a champ. Nice aroma, mild funk, plenty of fruit, citrus (tangerine) and tropical (pineapple) with a bit of spice, yeastiness, and bready maltiness. Nice flavor, lightly tart, just enough, enormously refreshing, mild brett funk, lots of fruitiness, just enough pale malts to hold it together. Could crush all day and all night.

Bottle, courtesy of kermis. Pours a hazy blonde beer with a big white head on top. Aroma is peppery, funky and fruity. Like your average saison. Flavor is quite sweet, fruity and has a slight bitter, yeasty aftertouch. Short aftertaste, high levels of carbonation. Quite an ok saison.

Hazy amber with a white thin, frothy, lacy, lasting head. Smells of a saison filled with yeast, coriander, fruit, and pear. Tastes of sweet fruit, yeast, malt, coriander and finishes dry with yeast and acid. Itís ok but not my thing.
