COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prairie Ale is our classic saison. We brew this beer with pilsner malt, wheat malt, flaked wheat, and cane sugar. A healthy dose of saaz hops are used to add a spicy element to the beer. Prairie Ale is fermented with a mix of ale yeast, wine yeast, and brettanomyces. Notes of black pepper and pineapple can be found in this beer.

Pours hazy yellow with tall, frothy white head. Aroma of citrus, wheat, honey, light bretta and touches of fruit. Taste is slightly funky sour with balancing sweetness and citrus notes. Finish is smooth and peppery. Fresh, light and crisp body with average carbonation.

Pours hazy gold with a pillowy head. Aroma is amazing- dirt, hay, burlap, band-aid, hemp rope, cellar/basement funk, and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is similarly impressive- big fruity apricot, band-aid, funk, soil, some woodiness, black pepper, grass, wood sorrel, and lemon zest. Tongue-drying finish. Staggeringly good; I’m sohappy and proud that it was made here in the Midwest. World-class.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Spice, lemon, orange, pineaple, and nuts. Appearance- Pours a straw yellow. It has good carbonation with a two finger head that dissipate quickly. The beer has a murky yellow look in th glass. Taste- Heavy malt taste on the front which provides a slight sweetness then transitions into a peppery, sour finish. Palate- Medium to heavy mouth feel that is refreshing. It has a dry subtle sweetness with a bitter end taste. Overall- A very interesting beer for a saison.

Bomber. Funky but creamy nose of cookies, chalk, and heavy floral notes. Cloudy medium straw color, great lace. Gentle, smooth peachiness. Bittering sneaks in nicely. Medium body -- smooth and slightly slick. Good. Hits very pleasant notes and doesn’t go too far. The least "out there" brew I’ve had from Prairie.

Small sample from bottle @ Zeebra II. Pours hazy yellow/golden with a small white head. Aroma has some citrus, brett, tartness and barnyard. Taste is slightly sweet with citrus, saison funk, som barnyard and a medium bitter, dry finish. Medium body and carbo.

Tap @ CBC. Pours hazy light yellow with a white head. Aroma has lots of saisonish notes. Very floral, a bit perfumed, wheat and sweet esters. Also some autumn fruits, straws and quite rural overall. Taste is like a dry saison with nice brett notes, autumn fruits, citrusy hops, straw, sweet yeast esters and quite rural. Nice summer beer!
