Prairie Ale is our classic saison. We brew this beer with pilsner malt, wheat malt, flaked wheat, and cane sugar. A healthy dose of saaz hops are used to add a spicy element to the beer. Prairie Ale is fermented with a mix of ale yeast, wine yeast, and brettanomyces. Notes of black pepper and pineapple can be found in this beer.

500 ml bottle received from my in-laws as a Christmas gift. The pour is slightly chill haze golden yellow with a ½ inch white head that is relatively lasting. The aroma is grassy herbal yeast, bit of lemon citrus and a nice wheat grain. Nice engaging nose. The taste is the grass, herbal, slightly medicinal yeast up front, followed close behind with a mineral, touch of chalk, hint of the lemon citrus of the nose and then the finish shows the wheat and malt. The palate is medium bodied, bright carbonation, and herbal medicinal yeast finish. Another nice one from Prairie.

75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2014. Courtesy of & thx! to Erwin. Hazy lemon golden, white head. Hoppy nose, lemon, touch lemonade, light funk, orange touch musty. Fruity lemon taste, slightly lactic, funky, faint brett, herbal, bitter herbs, hoppy. Touch higher carb. Expect a bit too much I feel but very solid & interesting never the less.

Thought the ratings were too high on this. Sweet lemon scent. Baby diaper taste. Complex beer. Obviously people appreciate something in this beer that I don't. Bottle from blackwells

500ml bottle pours cloudy pale yellow with 2 finger head. Nose is dusty grain and subtle musty citrus, slight band-aid presence, a little booze. Taste is dusty hay and grains, musty yeast, soft citrus, some faint cereal notes. Finish is bone dry fruity rustic yeast, some bitterness, and light spices. Good.

P: A murky organic apple cider body with a billowing mountain of off white creamy froth. S: Musty wood, dirt, aged potpourri, lemon curd, clove, white pepper, coriander, timid vinegar funk and faint lime. T/M: Taste follows the nose and delivers big spices with a nice subtle floral and citrus zest hop flavor. Bret funk forward but clean and complementing. Well balanced flavors deliver a smooth dry saison that is sure to please. Medium creamy body with kisses of carbonation and a soapy hop finish. Hints of rose petals in grain alcohol once warned. O: A great saison from a great new brewery that is producing some fantastic stuff. I love that Oklahoma is growing in the craft beer realm. With this being the first beer brewed by Praire I am anxious to try the rest. Cheers!

Bottle @ home. Cloudy yellow, small white head that settles nicely, nice lacing. Aroma, malts, brett, fruity, citrus, peach. Taste, malty, brett, fruity, citrus, peach, a tiny bit of alcohol. Bitter sour aftertaste. But i am disappointed about the alcohol, makes it seem unbalanced.

Appearance: this beer has more head than any I can remember, takes a very long time to pour it down, head is white and very dense, it towers over the rim of the glass, beer is a hazy gold color, with large chunks of yeast on the bottom, laces like no other beer Aroma: lots of funk, barnyard, wild, light bread, light yeast Taste: smooth, alcohol on the finish, lemon, some bitterness on the finish as well, some sourness Palate: lively carbonation, heavy mouthfeel, leaves bitter alcohol aftertaste Overall: this is one of the longest pouring beers I’ve had, beer begins to overflow out the bottle as soon as I popped the cork, after smelling I thought it would have more complex flavors but it’s battling against the strong alcohol flavor

Nice! Good dry, slightly funky saison. Champagne type carbonation with a little fruitiness and a dry chalky finish. I’m not sure it needed all this alcohol, but it’s very good.
