COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prairie Ale is our classic saison. We brew this beer with pilsner malt, wheat malt, flaked wheat, and cane sugar. A healthy dose of saaz hops are used to add a spicy element to the beer. Prairie Ale is fermented with a mix of ale yeast, wine yeast, and brettanomyces. Notes of black pepper and pineapple can be found in this beer.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4785) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 30, 2014
From the March 2014 Pittsburgh Ratebeer gathering. +++ Sampled from a 16 oz brown bottle this beer poured a pale yellow color with a large fluffy white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was bread, brett, dust, pepper, faint perfume, vague herbs and citrus. The flavor was dry, dusty, musty and bretty with notes of perfume, vague herbs and citrus. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

This poured a hazy darker yellow color with a whit ehead. Aroma was of brett, lemons and grain. Falvor was similar, definitely a lightly funky bretty beer, but a bit one dimensional

Cloudy orange yellow pour some foamy head. Aroma of bretta, crackers, lemons, funk, chardonnay. Peppery yeah tastes like it was american oak aged. Light lemons and spicy flavors dominate as well as bretta. Bitter hop finish yet also some sweet residuals. Some juicy thickness to palate, but also dry, and slight creamy like oatmeal. Mid carb. Very balanced yet flavorful. Great beer.

HMOG 2014. In a day of big ass beers, this one shinned bright. Love me some saisons and this hopped up version did not disappoint. Lemon, fruity, grains, yeast. Beautiful, not very dry and nice carbonation.

Bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a clear straw yellow color with lots of off-white head, about 4 fingers worth. Once the whole bottle is poured in with the yeast, the color changes to a kind of cloudy pineapple banana shake color. Head recedes slowly leaving nice webby lacing around the glass. Lots of bubbles flowing up the glass. Aromas of funk, lemon/lime citrus, floral and grassy notes. Tasting notes of funk. Brett, lemon/lime citrus, spices, tropical fruit, floral notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Medium carbonation, Very enjoyable saison from Prairie.

Half liter bottle from Beer Trappe, Lexington. Pours a slightly hazy straw color with large fizzy off-white head. Fair head retention. Aroma strong yeast, strong brett, doughy malts, dry fruits, spice, faintest bit of graininess. The taste is yeast, wine, spice, dry stone fruits, bubblegum. Medium bodied, slightly chewy, lingering spice, booze well hidden. Solid beer.
