COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prairie Ale is our classic saison. We brew this beer with pilsner malt, wheat malt, flaked wheat, and cane sugar. A healthy dose of saaz hops are used to add a spicy element to the beer. Prairie Ale is fermented with a mix of ale yeast, wine yeast, and brettanomyces. Notes of black pepper and pineapple can be found in this beer.

Nice saison! Light hazy yellow. Barnyard, citrus in the aroma. The taste is supremely crisp, grassy, lemon, just a hint of tart. Balance and mouthfeel is excellent. Slightly sweet and spicy finish. Great stuff.

Bottle via trade. Poured into a snifter. Nose is full of barnyard, and some funk to go with that. Pours a large white head that dissipates quickly, color is light gold and slightly hazy. Some pepper notes come through as the beer warms. Taste is a less funky than aroma would indicate. A little thick on the palate and slightly sweet, with no drying finish. Overall, the aroma is much better than the flavor. Still it is not a bad beer, but I donít think I could drink more than one

Poured from 500 mL bottle into a tulip -- First beer from Prairie Iíve been a little disappointed in. Prairie Standard imo is the better Saison. The bump in ABV in this beer is nice, but I would prefer the subtleties of a more delicate malt profile than this. Overall a good beer, but would prefer a Standard over this Ale.

A classic saison. Wheat, spice, and yeast on the nose. Raw wheat, hay, citurs, and a bit of fruit on the palate. Finishes with just a little spice. Overall, a very well done saison.

Cloudy orange with a soap like froth head. Sour funk smells. Citrus tart with a grain smoothness and a slight bitter rinse. I leaves a slight citrus spice behind,

Bottle purchased @ 7-11, Kittery. Enjoyed slightly chilled in a tulip. Completely cloudy gold thin a small cap of lasting head retention. Aroma is Brettanomyces dominate with light citrus and thick yeast.

Flavor starts with chewy yeast upfront with a dusty wheat and citrus base. Pepper and light fruit are found right before a large amount of Brett bugs in the finish. Apple crispness with hints of tropical fruits, wouldnít call it pineapple however. The Brett gets more influential as you continue to drink. Lighter side of medium in body with a very dry texture. Carbonation gives a effervescent mouthfeel. Logging on to rate this Iím surprised it doesnít have a higher weighted average. I link this is a very nice funky saison, nice job from this brewery!
