COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prairie Ale is our classic saison. We brew this beer with pilsner malt, wheat malt, flaked wheat, and cane sugar. A healthy dose of saaz hops are used to add a spicy element to the beer. Prairie Ale is fermented with a mix of ale yeast, wine yeast, and brettanomyces. Notes of black pepper and pineapple can be found in this beer.

My Bottom Line:
This dazzling Saison’s citrusy, herbal hop profile satisfies from aroma to finish, accompanied by precise, soft cereals and delicate yeast rusticity.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam settles atop the cloudy yellow. It fizzes away a bit too quickly for my liking.
-Noble hops and yeast signature combine for truly compelling results.
-Carbonation is intense and prickly, yet manages to create a fluff up the mouthfeel.
-Malt profile is bready, baguette-like.
-This is as quenching as can be without ever being too timid flavor-wise.
-The finish is a return of all that was present in the aroma and flavor profile. Just lovely.
-There is A LOT of yeast in this bottle. The second glass, even though the bottle had been vertical for many hours, is turbid, full of yeast. The aromas and flavors are still there, but in a rougher, murkier state. There must be ways for them to not add so much to each bottle...

Bottle.

Bottle - 500ml. Pours a cloudy blond body with a huge white foamy head. Fresh malty/hoppy aroma with citrusy, herbal, and yeasty hints. Alcohol is very well hidden. Its sharp hoppy taste carries malty, coriander, grainy, and citrusy notes. Once again, alcohol is barely noticeable. Ends with a very long, dry, sour finish. Very well done.

Bottle. Strong horseblanket, lemon and barley malt aroma. Cloudy pale yellow with moderate head. Sweet lemon, malt, horseblanket and lightly bitter herbal flavor. Excellent - great Brett presence.

Bottle: Cloudy, murky yellow gold with a gigantic fizzy head that eventually wore off. Mild spice and yeast aroma with wheat and grain as well. Refreshing flavor with mild flavor that is not annoying. Perhaps, my favorite Saison.

Bottle hazy light orange. minimal off white head. LIght spicy lemony aroma. Very mild Saison yeast flavors and a slight grassy bitterness trailer. Mellow and light

Bomber into a tulip glass. Pours a light hazy yellow, with a small white head that quickly fades into a disc on the surface. No appreciable lacing. Nose is faint citrus and yeast. Taste is citrus with a hint of pepper. Refreshing, but not one of Prairie’s best.

Bottle: Huge, bright white foam and a tiny bit of cloudy lemon yellow on initial pour......wait, wait...wait.. Strong lemon, yeast aroma. Tart, lemon, white pepper...dry... Definitely a note of barnyard and dust. Very crisp and sharp.

Tap at CBC 2014. Light yellow in the glass, huge head. Mild fruity aroma with salty hints. Starts mild, malty, fruity and a bit moldy, not too intense. Finish more spicy. Quite drinkable. Not bad!
