COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prairie Ale is our classic saison. We brew this beer with pilsner malt, wheat malt, flaked wheat, and cane sugar. A healthy dose of saaz hops are used to add a spicy element to the beer. Prairie Ale is fermented with a mix of ale yeast, wine yeast, and brettanomyces. Notes of black pepper and pineapple can be found in this beer.

750 ml bottle from Secret Santa. Thanks. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a small white head that immediately disperses to a fine ring around the glass. The aroma is strong with Belgian yeasts (but not saison yeast) and features key limes, cilantro, soap, some funk and mild spices that hint of clove. The taste (to me) conjures up urinal cake flavors and is a flavor I very much dislike. The palate is smooth and light with medium carbonation. Finishes long and dry. Overall: Hell no, not for me.

Serving: Bottle. Cloudy yellow pour with a slim white head. Light yeast and floral notes with a little bit of hay. Very clean and bright on the tongue. A touch of lemon pith, pepper, and a slight frutiness. Short, clean finish that is dry. Definitely one of the better examples I’ve had in awhile. Surprised at the high ABV on this.

Yellow, totally hazed, white head. Smell of funk, light fruits, hints of white grapes and grapefruit. Light sweet, quite dry, very intence fruits, funky brett and must. Moderate bitter finish. Very fascinating saison. An excellent crafted beer

Bottle from Hazel’s Beverage World. pours golden with a thin white head. has some solid funk on the nose with a bit of tartness. Has some nice citrus funkiness on the nose. finishes clean. Solid but not spectacular.

Tap. Transparent soft yellow pour; very clean appearance. The aroma is herbal, and aerated; minerals, leafy mint and further herbs together with sugar for a fluoride like effect. Softened, yeast oriented flavor offering peppercorns, white grape and yellow apple, and the high tang of pineapple. It is pleasant and organized, but feels a little stripped; the body is crisp and shallow. A bottled version might be more representative of this beer’s possibilities.

500 ml purchase at the Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury (VT) on August 19, 2014. Golden cream, medium head. Dry yeast aroma, soft herbs and field berry notes. Taste of citrus herbs, very dry yeast, the aftertaste is equally dry without any scenes of alcohol. Dry and funky, I like it!

Pours a light slightly hazy golden with some sudsy white head. Nose is lemony sour, slightly tropical, tiny bit of funk, some bread dough. Flavor is tropical juice, lemon zest, a little bit of funk, slight banana, a little clove. Finish is dry, slightly sour and grainy. Alcohol is hidden amazingly, and body is medium to heavy with perfect carbonation for the style. Really balanced and tasty.

Bottle - 500ml. Pours a cloudy blond body with a huge white foamy head. Fresh malty/hoppy aroma with citrusy, herbal, and yeasty hints. Alcohol is very well hidden. Its sharp hoppy taste carries malty, coriander, grainy, and citrusy notes. Once again, alcohol is barely noticeable. Ends with a very long, dry, sour finish. Very well done.

Bottle. Strong horseblanket, lemon and barley malt aroma. Cloudy pale yellow with moderate head. Sweet lemon, malt, horseblanket and lightly bitter herbal flavor. Excellent - great Brett presence.

Bottle: Cloudy, murky yellow gold with a gigantic fizzy head that eventually wore off. Mild spice and yeast aroma with wheat and grain as well. Refreshing flavor with mild flavor that is not annoying. Perhaps, my favorite Saison.

Bottle hazy light orange. minimal off white head. LIght spicy lemony aroma. Very mild Saison yeast flavors and a slight grassy bitterness trailer. Mellow and light
