COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prairie Gold is a dry, highly effervescent saison fermented with a mix of ale yeast, wine yeast, lactobacillus and 2 strains of brettanomyces. This beer highlights the various yeasts and bacteria used to make it. Lemon, pear, white wine grapes, and a touch of funk dominate the flavor and aroma in this champagne like beer.

Bottle, 6.5%. Slow gusher. The aroma is quite lactic at first. Also has some soft fruit, mango, and perhaps a little fresh lemon juice. Cloudy milky yellow colour. Sparkling. No head. The flavour is sourish. Milky and fruity sourness. Tart finish. A little sweetness to balance. Finishes with a dry and clean lemon note. High carbonation, fizzy. Refreshing. A bit like Berliner Weisse, but better.

750 c&c from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours slightly hazy gold with a slight fizzy white head. Aroma is funky and fruity. Near full bodied. It really is winey and peary, with some follow on lemon. It’s also rather mouthsmackingly earthy. Very refined. Finishes funky/grapey. Amazing ale.

Thanks to Phil for sharing. Golden pour with a white head. Big time strawberry and lemon aromas. Floral, tart, and mild funk. Grass, maybe some apple skin, and a hint of wine vinegar. Flavor is sour, unripe strawberry. Lemon, light funk, grass, and straw. A bit of sweet tarts and a dry finish.

Bottle. Poured a clear golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy sour and complex fruit aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth tingly texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sour & fruit sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet & sour finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer for style.
