COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prairie Gold is a dry, highly effervescent saison fermented with a mix of ale yeast, wine yeast, lactobacillus and 2 strains of brettanomyces. This beer highlights the various yeasts and bacteria used to make it. Lemon, pear, white wine grapes, and a touch of funk dominate the flavor and aroma in this champagne like beer.

Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a foamy white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma: pear, lemon, yeast. Taste: lemon, very tart, grapefruit, yeast. Very tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours an intensely cloudy straw color. White head that starts off quite vigorous, but ends abruptly. Nose smells like the ghetto of funkytown... Intense funk, cheese, KC and the sunshine band. Taste reveals this to be light on the sour but heavy in the funk. Some grape taste, some white pepper, some sweaty balls, but really, really funky. Not quite sour enough for my preferences, but seriously funky. A beautiful beer, no doubt.

Pours an almost mead like gold with a small amount of head that thins out quickly. Smells a little sour and also sweet like cotton candy. Pretty sour upfront and dry with good carbonation. Nice example of a golden sour, can’t wait to try it with some fruit!

Many farmhouse-style recipes dance around the white wine thing, but this one bolts straight for it with a certain amount of gusto. A tangy, fruity and dry sparkling blond ale with notes of tangerine and grapefruit, with a refreshing acidity and useful enough alcohol content. Wish I had drunk more of this when I had the chance. Too busy talking. Enough talk. More drink.

A: Hazy Golden Straw Hue, Passes Some Light, Thin White Head Ring, Minimal Lacing S: Chardonnay, Musty Grape, Apricots, Earthy T: Apricots, Sour Mash, Chardonnay, Brett M: Average Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Semi Funky and Sour, Mildly Bitter Overall, the brett and sour funkiness is very prominent in this beer, solid first offering of an american wild ale. BEWARE: The cork tried to escape the cage before you fully twist off the cage.

On tap at Churchkey. Tart and fruit. Mild acid in the nose. Certainly wild. Some lemon, straw, pineapple, mango, an guava. Guava juice in the finish.

Hazy gold pour, white head. I love the mix of funk, light hops, great yeasty qualitites, lemony notes and fluffy mouthfeel. Really a damn solid beer that I will be happy to drink more of.

750 c&c from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours slightly hazy gold with a slight fizzy white head. Aroma is funky and fruity. Near full bodied. It really is winey and peary, with some follow on lemon. It’s also rather mouthsmackingly earthy. Very refined. Finishes funky/grapey. Amazing ale.

750mL shared at a tasting. Cork blew off the bottle followed by a light gush out the bottle. Pours an very cloudy pale straw color. This was a brett centric brew with lemony funk all over the place. Lots of tartness and vibrant funk. A bit of sour but mostly a lemony brett bright beer. Real nice.
