4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A creamy-smooth, frothy 1.5" white head settles to a sheet and thick ring with a few short, thick, angular peninsulas of lace over a hazed sunshine body
Bright earthy funk meets floral notes, pineapple, mango, peaches, and melon over a bold grassy base with peppery accents on a soft, smooth medium body with active carbonation introducing an elevated sense of white pepper on a drying bitter finish with subtle fruity sweetness and solid duration, rustic with solid intensity, complexity, and length, lightly tart
Another great label from Prairie, which accurately illustrates the characteristics of the brew it surrounded
1 Pint, .9oz capped bottle with smudged code, I believe this was bottled within the last two months, purchased from room temp shelf, served at 45° and warming into Orrefors Beer Taster

this reminds of the first couple good belgian IPAs I ever had. Dry and slightly funky, with a fruity battle between the yeast and the hops. Dank yet light and refreshing.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Fresh bottle from Oakland Rd HyVee. Pours hazy straw/gold with ample rocky white head. Mineral, lemon zest, pepper -- Belgian-inspired funky saison I’d say. Despite the name, hop bitterness isn’t huge. They must contribute some of this tropical fruit. Lightly sweet with a ridiculously dry, almost puckering lightly tart finish. Need to chase this one with water. Overall: this is nice. Not $12+tax/500ml nice, but nice enough that I’d drink it again (as long as I’m not buying). Man, when did I become such a cheap curmdgeon?
