COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prairie Hop is our hop driven saison. This beer is packed with Simcoe and Citra hops. Notes of peach, mango, and tangerine can be found in the flavor and aroma of this beer. The beer finishes dry which helps the hops jump out of the glass flavor wise.

75 cl bottle.
Pours clear golden color with a small head. Aroma of citrus fruits, floral hops, some grass and orange peel. Some faint yeast notes too. Very nice and appealing aroma. Flavor of citrus, apricot, hops and caramel. The taste is a bit mellow compared to the great aroma. Not as bitter as one would expect. Still very nice and refreshing brew.

750ml bottle @ Super IPA tasting

Pours golden orange with a foamy white head. Aroma of fresh exotic fruits, grassy hops, citrus, lemon and yeasty notes. Taste is smooth, hoppy and slightly yeasty with notes of exotic fruits, farmyard, citrus and lemon. Finish is a bit malty and yeasty with some tangy fruity notes. Massively hoppy and fruity, but not very bitter. Still quite balanced and tasty. Nice belgian ale/saison for hopheads.

75 cl bottle @ olio, no BBE info
Aroma has urinal cake, some citrus, peaches, acidic tones and grass. Flavour has orange, some citrus, grassy notes, apricot, fruit candy and yeasty notes. Not the most typical Belgian blonde.

Bottle thanks to Randall G. Arbage. and John’s Grocery, purveyors of fine garbage juice. Pours slightly hazy gold with a persistent thick white head that leaves hazy lacing. Aroma is slightly sweet and tart with tangerine, peach, grass. Taste is a bit sweet, but nicely tart and dry. Could drink this all night.

Bottle bought at Ölbutikken during CBC 2013. Hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma and taste of brett, fruit, hay, some light spices, yeast. Dry and a rather bitter finish. Not a bad one.

750 ml bottle bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours hazy golden with a solid frothy offwhite head that is rather slow to dissipate while leaving some sticky trace and thick lacing on the glass, Smell is fruity, floral, spicy, perfume-like and absolutely amazing with crackers, pineapple, passionfruit, freshly cut grass, dry wood, lemon grass, dill, white pepper corns, rose-hips, lilacs, papaya, pink grapefruit juice, clovers, lime leaves, dry soil, white grapes and dew. Basiccally another one of those beers that makes you think that you’re standing in a tropical garden just before the morning sun raises above the horizon. Taste is very fruity, floral, tiny spicy, tiny herbal and heavenly with crackers, pineapple, passionfruit, rosewater, pink grapefruit juice, lemon zest, raspberries, blackberries, white pepper corns, freshly cut herbs like cilantro, lemon balm and Thai basil, lemon grass, lime leaves, dry wood, dry soil, white grapes, ripe gooseberries, red currants, frozen strawberries, freshly cut grass and hints of lilacs and other edible or inedible flowers. Mouthfeel is soft, dry, slightly round, slightly crisp and medium bodied. Finish is floral, fruity and tiny spicy with crackers, passionfruit, lime leaves, lemon grass, white pepper corns, dry wood, white grapes, lemon balm, dill, pink grapefruit juice, lemon zest, freshly cut grass, gooseberries and pineapple. Absolutely amazing. The balance between all the different smells and tastes combines in utter perfection. Best beer so far in 2013 and one of the best beers I’ve ever tried.

3fourths (6962) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 7, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 11, 2013 750ml bottle. cloudy semi-dark wheat colored body with a billowy and sitcky white head. strongly floral nose with a lot of potpourri, dish soap, wax, mango and peach notes; very yeast-heavy. the vanilla candle wax and tropical fruit esters begin to grow as it breathes, and though my first impression (cold from the bottle) was nice, as it arrives around 55 F there is an ester amplification. I have to say it’s more a design problem than execution. medium to medium-full body; medium aicd; strongly tart; yeast and chalk texture with a lot of gummi malt sugars. an abundance of tropical / fruity American hops appears through the ester cloud, but the core is bitter pine sap. even with a careful pour it’s all in suspension. perhaps you have to sit these bottles upright for a week to settle them out. so here is a beer that I would call more of raw unfiltered wheat IPA (wheat or not, the malt and yeast share similarities with Hefeweizen, flavor-wise) than anything I would call Saison. I like the effort, it has the fundamentals right to land somewhere in the area of XX Bitter (mostly pale malt, strong hop expression, Belgian yeast); but the use of American hops and doughy yeast turns it into a very bitter ester-bomb. the malt texture seems smooth by comparison to all of this, so it’s one of the things I like most about this beer.

Zeebra Extreme Beer Festival - Dark golden colour. Tropical fruit aroma, quite peachy. Flavour is sweet and fruity and has some light spice and hop in the background. The finish has some clove. Not very smooth or fresh feeling.

750ml bottle. Hazy amber with a small dense white head. Aroma of citrus zest, grainy malt and light mustiness. Flavor is bitter hops, spicy yeast esters, clean malt and a light tart finish. Medium to light body with average carbonation. This is a nice hoppy saison, good use of American hops to make a super drinkable, refreshing beer with lots of flavor.

Bottle @ ZeeBra. Aroma has big fruits, some spicy notes, peppery yeast. Flavour has an almost candy like fruity hop note, again some spicy yeast. LRAB.
