Prairie Hop is our hop driven saison. This beer is packed with Simcoe and Citra hops. Notes of peach, mango, and tangerine can be found in the flavor and aroma of this beer. The beer finishes dry which helps the hops jump out of the glass flavor wise.

Super fresh bottle, as in no more than a week or two old. Like all the other Prairie Ales, it's just too flowery for my tastes. I don't know what this taste I'm tasting is, but encounter it in some saisons and some wit. Meh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

16.9 oz bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Hazy straw/pale yellow with around two fingers of off-white head. Aromas of citrus, herbs, spice, light floral notes. Tastes of citrus fruit and peel, floral notes, hops, subtle funk, light spice. Medium body with a dry finish. Medium carbonation. Interesting.

500ml bottle late summer/early fall 2014 release, pours cloudy dark orange with 1 finger head. Nose is spicy yeast, grain, stale grass, peppery, some light fruit. Taste is bone dry and yeast-driven with assertive spicy saison yeast which holds some bits of unpleasant plastic, not a ton of hops on the palate but some decent fruity notes, light rustic grainy malt, some grassy bitter grapefruit. Finish is more of the sharp yeast, a bit overpowering, grain, light malt fruit and moderate (if any) hops. Very bitter. Maybe this has fallen hard off a cliff in the past few weeks? Would not peg it as dry-hopped blind. Unfortunately, not that great and at $13 for 16oz don’t think I’ll be revisiting.

50 cl. Merveilleuse proposition.

750 ml bottle at home. Hazy golden orange color with white head. Aroma is light malty, fruity and floral hoppy, funky yeasty. Taste is light sweet and bitter, hoppy fruity, exotic fruits, citrus fruits, sweet like peach fruity, refreshing funky - like bretty. Medium body, oily, fizzy.

Bottle from Bierkoning (purchased a while ago though) at 8% ABV, no BB date, large sample, served in an Oersoep tulip. Initially clear golden color, big rocky white head. Aroma is fruity of hop, bit pineapple, citrus, also spicy saisonesque yeast, bit peppery, slight funky even. Soft bitter taste, slight marzipan like sweetness. Bit dry, flowery, crisp. Medium to high carbonation and thin body, but fitting to the style. Funky notes give that bit of extra. Maybe I left it a bit too long, so not the freshest example, but its still a very nice beer. Can match with the better Belgian stuff.
