4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is my first beer from Prairie, and hopefully won’t be the last. Hazy golden amber pour with a fluffy white head. Aroma is tart and slightly grainy. Lemon pith, lemongrass, lime leaf, honey. Flavor is lightly acidic up front, lending a tart, bright character. Lemon and lime, with lightly floral hops. Toast and grass. I wouldn’t call it "funk" but there’s definitely yeast character to it that’s almost funky. Reminds me of stuff like Jolly Pumpkin or Fantome with that bright, expressive, fresh tart Belgian character. I could probably find notes of just about any citrus fruit I looked for. Just that right balance where the hops are clearly bringing out and highlighting the natural fruity notes of the saison without just tasting like a beer with a bunch of hops dumped in it. Hits that spot that makes your mouth water and crave sip after sip. Honestly a bit thick and heavy for a hot summer day, but great with a meal of fish. Carbonation is on the light side, but I probably wouldn’t want to up it for fear that it would take away from the way that the acidity lingers on the tongue.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance was clear gold with diminishing creamy tiny white head, no lacing. Aromas are stone, tropical and soft citrus fruit with doughy, spicy yeasts. Taste are pineapple, orange, muscat grapes, spicy yeasts and grahamcracker-like malt, no alcohol. Palate was soft fizzy CO2 with light_medium body, lasting spicy tropical yeasty finish. A wonderful saison or Belgian ale, vintage 2013.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a hazy gold with a bubbly white head. Huge aroma of tropical fruits, yeast and piney hops. Easily one of the best aromas I’ve come across. Tangerine, pineapple and mango stand out. There’s a touch of spice, and the hops give it a decent bitterness. Medium mouth with a carbonated crispness. The other dry-hopped saisons I’ve tried were middling, at best. This one is juicy and flavorful.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Full on opague light orange, very swift;y dissapating foam cap. Peacy, clean and sweet. Creamy and oddly cheesy. Finest, thinnest grainy esters. Gulping foamy carbonation. Not terribly hopped. Finish wholesome and rich, astounding for the ABV but lacking a full on grating Belgian punch.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a tulip and a snifter the day I had it.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy orange color with a thin white foamy half fingered head that dissipated within less than a minute in both glasses.
The smell had some light notes of peach, mango and tangerine and had some light Belgian spices arrange themselves neatly in and out on over top of the previously mentioned fruits.
The taste was a good combination of spicy to sweet.
On the palate, this one sat at/about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed pretty good for the Belgian ale style.
Overall, though I thought this was a saison at one time in my life, I see that it is not, well, honestly I’m okay with that. Straight up Belgian Pale Ale or Saison, either way this is good to me and worthy of having again.

3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
07.06.2014, 0,75l bottle @ home:
Big creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly fresh fruity, hops, citrus peel, leafs, lawn, mango, yeast, light malts, hay, grapefruit, hints of passion fruit. Taste is slightly fresh and dry, citrus peel, yeast, leafs, hops, alcohol, citrus, grass, tropical fruits. Longlasting bitterness, slightly harsh boozy mouthfeel. It was actually very nice the first 4-5 sips, and I would probably have rated it at 4,2 based on that. But then a very powerful harsh citrusy vodka-like boozyness started to punch through, which I didn’t like at all.
