Prairie Hop is our hop driven saison. This beer is packed with Simcoe and Citra hops. Notes of peach, mango, and tangerine can be found in the flavor and aroma of this beer. The beer finishes dry which helps the hops jump out of the glass flavor wise.

This is my first beer from Prairie, and hopefully won’t be the last. Hazy golden amber pour with a fluffy white head. Aroma is tart and slightly grainy. Lemon pith, lemongrass, lime leaf, honey. Flavor is lightly acidic up front, lending a tart, bright character. Lemon and lime, with lightly floral hops. Toast and grass. I wouldn’t call it "funk" but there’s definitely yeast character to it that’s almost funky. Reminds me of stuff like Jolly Pumpkin or Fantome with that bright, expressive, fresh tart Belgian character. I could probably find notes of just about any citrus fruit I looked for. Just that right balance where the hops are clearly bringing out and highlighting the natural fruity notes of the saison without just tasting like a beer with a bunch of hops dumped in it. Hits that spot that makes your mouth water and crave sip after sip. Honestly a bit thick and heavy for a hot summer day, but great with a meal of fish. Carbonation is on the light side, but I probably wouldn’t want to up it for fear that it would take away from the way that the acidity lingers on the tongue.

10/9/15. Draft at Criterion. Poured orange copper w min head. Super well balanced with deep round hop and yeast notes. Saison funkiness was far in the background. Drank like a solid DIPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy medium gold pour with a two finger creamy to soapy bright white head that has good retention. Aroma is big on clementine and slightly tart mango, some melon, stone fruit, slightly sweet cereal, sweet grass, a hint of pale caramel, spicy and peppery yeast. Flavor is sweet and slightly bready and cereal malt, more clementine, melon flesh with a little tart rind in there, dried mango, pepper, sweet grass, a little hay and green wood. Medium body, dry, slightly chalky and slightly acidic feel with a medium to heavy and fairly sharp, spritzy carbonation. Really good stuff, I really dig the North Central Europe meets North America hop character.

Bottle. Pours a pale golden orange color with a white head that leaves behind a few wisps of lacing. Smells of tropical fruit & citrus, lemon, yeast, bubblegum. Fruity hops up front that give way to a moderate bitterness. Really wonderful taste. Average carbonation, medium bodied, moderately bitter & dry finish. Very nice!
