3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This one poured a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma was of milk chocolate, light bourbon and wood, and molasses. Flavor was fairlty sweet, and soft, but more caramel and milk chocolate, lacking in the complex deep roasted character.

Um, 750ML poured um cloudy orange, 1 finger head. this is a stout? nice yeasty brett nose with citra and lemon meringue. Quite fruity with mango, lots of brett....yeasty, mango, banana. really fruit, juicy tangerine bitterness. This is quite good but not an imperial stout.

Pours a deep black but not too thick. Aroma is lots of coffee, chocolate and a hint of marshmallow and sugar. Taste is sweet but well balanced. Palate is delicious. Marshmallow, sugar, coffee and a sugary cream finish. Mouthfeel is super smooth.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 14, 2014 Bottle thanks to beechner224. Poured into a snifter. Pours a nice black color. No head at all. Not much smell. Just some oak. At first taste it is all oak. Not much whiskey. Only a little. But it is good. Full bodied and sticks to the mouth. Stays with you. I’m waiting until it warms up. I hope more whiskey comes out. Even if it doesn’t I still like it a lot.

Sampled at ESBLS. Thanks Levi. Very dark, almost black. A beige ring. An aggressive flavor of roasted notes with coffee. I don’t taste wood but do taste whiskey. Some vanilla. A really good beer. Gobs of malts.

Brownish-black pour with a medium light brown head that diminishes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Roasted malt, coffee and oak in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of roast coffee, oaky vanilla and chocolate. The finish is roasted malt and subtle bourbon, Good beer all around.

Overall a solid beer. Roasty, chocolaty, stout. Light vanilla and espresso notes. Very little barrel. More of a imperial stout than a ba stout. 85/100

In my opinion Prairie is the most overated beer in history. Their Bomb is less than that. However, their Noir is making me reconsider this notion. Cofffee hue. Espresso aroma. Lacy head. Vanilla bits and a lingering taste of nutmeg. Definitely feels like a seasonal, meant for Winter. Sweet wash down, There is booze but the balance between sweet and bitter is perfect. Try. Drink. Repeat.

Bottle. Aroma is chocolate, whiskey, and coffee. Appearance is black with a thin light brown head. Good lacing. Taste is milk chocolate, caramel, vanilla, bourbon, coffee, and toast. Full bodied with a creamy texture and low carbonation. Overall very nice. Not too heavy on the bourbon.

Jack is back tasting at Bruce’s. Jack is back and brought this with him. Thanks Jack. Opaque dark brown beer, decent tan head. Palate is softish and airy, slightly dry with fine carbonation. Smooth airy dark malt. Brett and dark fruits. Little malt roast in the finish. Not bad.
