COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prairie Noir is our bourbon barrel aged imperial oatmeal stout. We brew this beer with a huge amount of oats to give it an ever so silky mouth feel. Notes of coffee, chocolate, and toasted marshmallow can be found in the flavor and aroma of this beer. Notes of whiskey and carmel are also packed into this beer.

My rating is a bit biased because I am not a fan of stouts. This one felt a bit chalky and dark. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I am not a huge whiskey fan so I shouldn’t have been surprised that I was not a fan of this.

12 oz. bottle into a tulip glass. Pours a deep brown, almost black, with a moderate medium brown head that slowly fades. Decent lacing. Nose is dark malt and vanilla and bourbon. Taste is bourbon, dark chocolate, and dark roast coffee. Very well balanced, with a smooth mouth feel. Delicious.

Bottle from exclusive food mart. Black pour, thin brown head with decent retention. Fades to a thin lace. Aroma is bourbon, oak, vanilla, cocoa, light dried fruit and coffee. Smells great. Taste is milk chocolate, vanilla, bourbon and caramel. Smooth mouthfeel, but still thick and almost syrupy on the palate medium carbonation. Really a nice BA imperial stout. Awesome.

375 mL bottle from errl. Love the label on this. Very dark brown with slightly watery rim. Nose is burnt malts, light vanilla and booze, some dark chocolate. Taste is brooding dark and burnt malts, tons of dark bitter chocolate, some sweet vanilla and dark caramel but well balanced by bitter malt and hops. Medium body, high carbonation.
