sample at The Festival. Funky tart acidic saison. Lime /lemon/orange notes, citrus acidity, touch of mustiness. Lemony tartness. Another winner from Prairie

Pours hazy orange. Nose is funk, tartness, spice and funky fruit complexities. This one is spicy tart grapefruit and funky dry malts. This is a little more than a saison than a sour/wild. Thanks, Jcr!

Bottle shared at Craft Beer Co. Clerkenwell - London. Massive thanks to Aaron for sharing this one. Pours cloudy, yellow-gold with a foamy white head. Tangy pale citrus nose, lemon, light funk. Mellow sweetness in the flavor, nice funky and lemony tang. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Clean finish with further tangy lemon and slight mineral dryness. Lovely.

pour is hazed yellow with very right head. Nose is heavy lemon, light cellar musk, fairly dusty. Taste is a touch sweeter, more lemon but still strong cellar musk and bretty dust. High carb, medium body, semi dry finish.

A strange one, this. Bretty and fruity, with odd notes of key lime and orange tic tacs. Acidic but it’s a stretch to call it sour. Funky, vaguely tropical, on the sweet side.

750 ml bottle from Secret Santa. Thanks. C&C bottle opens with a loud bang and scares the shit out of me, cork dents the ceiling--wife is pissed. Pours a cloudy yellow with a large white head that quickly fizzes away to nothing. The aroma is resplendent with yeast, citrus and spices. The taste is lemons, grapefruit, spiced breads, and more yeast. The palate is full and smooth with prickly carbonation. Finishes medium in duration and dry. Overall: Really nice brew if you like the yeast flavor which I do.

Pouring at The Festival in Portland with Kramer, Andrew, and J-Dadmond. Pours a mostly clear gold with a thin white head. Soft funk and musk on the nose, light wheat. Tart wheat, soft and funky. Wheat and tangy acid. Lightly lactic, tangy into the finish.

Thanks to brystmar for sharing this bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a white head. The aroma is full of yeast with some biscuit malt and white pepper. The flavor is a bit more complex. I get a lot of lemon and white pepper, as well a some yeast and biscuit malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nice beer.

750 ml bottle from Binnys (Naperville, IL). Continuing my first go at Prairie. And a sour to boot. Pours a dulled golden orange hue, well hazed with cakey offwhite heaf atop, starts to die to a mellow film with touches of lacing. A bit dulled and darker in body, darker glow, good haziness. Aromas offer decent funk, lactic acidity shows some lemon, more oranges, and gentle yogurt. Some white grape, grass, and gentle florals. More lemon, lactic acidity, dusty funk and mellow cobwebs. Bready, grainy, straw. Settles and grows on me a bit, showing some decent fruity life, touches of white wine. Initial is lighter end of the fold, touches of gentle girth. Melon, white grape, and lemon. Touches of lactic acidity, white wine, and mellow yogurt. Potent sour swipe up front, lemon and oranges, lactic acidity. White grape, rind, and some florals. Nice pop. Middle is a bit of florals, bit of grapefruit, citrus, pleasant lactic sourness. Florals, a bit of rind, and juice. Some bready malt, lingering and enjoyable citrusy elements really are pleasant. Decent funkiness up front and coming back in the backend is enjoyable, dry dusty and grassy. Some horseblanket is mellow, dry, compliments well. Finish is dry, citrus rind, lactic and bready. This is well put together. Good flavors overall as it’s strength, it flows well, nothing is dominant or overdone, not acedic, nose is pleasant but not quite a winner. A really nice wild/sour beer that, while not top shelf, really is quite pleasant and intruiging.
