UPDATED: NOV 3, 2013 Looks like a gose: light and cloudy, zero head. Sulfuric nose, golden sour taste. A touch sweet; funky and musty above all. Pears at the end. Interesting.

Adding tasting notes from my pour at the HF FoFA on 8/11/2013: Big, bold grapefruit delivers fruit right to the palate. Unabashedly bitter; biting grapefruit kick midway through. Tart & funky. Interesting.

Hazy light golden color with lasting white sheen. Barnyard dung, dry wood, dry hay, earthy rustic aromas. Light body with average carbonation. Lemon citrus, dry wood, hay flavors with dusty pale malts, dry spices, and barnyard dung. Drying finish----another tasty Saison from Prairie----very good.

Importing notes from the last tasting made me thirsty. Aroma is fairly fruity with medium pineapple notes, lighter citrus and pear notes, and medium oak notes. Light oak tannins add some complexity. Hint of sulfur and some cherry pie Brett notes as well. Pours a cloudy pale yellow gold with a moderate white head that recedes fairly quickly to a thin layer where it lingers. Medium lacing and medium legs. Flavor of this one is a bit lacking. There is a faint malt presence, but then the fruit notes take over. The fruit is medium light with some pear, pineapple and citrus. The most dominant flavor though is the oak which kind of washes away the other characters but does bring in a nice tannic acidity. Medium light bitterness. Lingering oak character, tannins and some pineapple and citrus with a hint of cherry. Mouthfeel is fairly light and a bit watery; this might be the most disappointing feature of the beer. Moderate carbonation, low but present tannic astringency and low alochol warmth. Overall a bit of a let down for me. I have really enjoyed most of the Prairie offerings and while this is good, it does not live up to the others. The body is really lacking and it hurts the initial flavor. The oak character in the flavor is also too strong and the lingering notes of oak are not super appealing.

750 ml bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs.). Looks good for the style; a hazy golden orange with fluffy thin white head that steadily dissipates into thin lacing. Smells and tastes solid; tart, damp, oaky, yeasy, and a little spicy. Nice on the palate. Good beer.

Pours a very hazy blonde with a good head and nice lacing on the glass.
The aroma has a bunch of funkiness to it, lemon rind, barnyard, some woodiness. Itís very pungent bright at one moment, a touch of dingy basement at the next. All together very nice smelling beer if you dig that sort of thing though.

The flavor is nicely earthy, sour, & basically dry. Tart lemon and odd berry flavors bring a fruitier element, the bitterness level is mild but works well against everything else going on, the woodiness is pretty mild. Everything is very chill just here.

Bottle from craftshack.com. Pours a dusty yellow color with minimal head. Aromas of funk, mildly sour fruits. Taste is bretty, lightly sour, yet crisp and sweaty. Really amazing. Finishes slightly tart but with A refreshing sweetness and a slight nuttiness. Blown away.

Got this import from Oklahoma. Light tasting and cloudy pour. Moderate funk and decent lacing. Oak probably mellowed out the sourness, but there isnít much oak in the finish.
