A collaboration between Prairie and Bob Sylvester from Saint Somewhere Brewing in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
Prairie Somewhere is a blend of a golden farmhouse ale and a sour ale. Citrus fruit is used in the kettle to add intense orange and lime notes.

Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is lemon, grapefruit, guava and mild earthy funk. Taste is tart, acid, tannins that smooths out a little at the end to a nice bitterness / fermented citrus peels. Not as complex as other beers from Prairie but still not as one-dimensional as Almanac sours.

Very lightly clouded golden orange, settles to clear. Minimal light tan head. Sweet and tangy vinous grape nose, light earthiness, light citrus. Slight herbal botanicals. Light bitterness, spice, good amount of tanginess. Fairly dry. Light effervescent body, some acidity. Medium length dry finish. Quite nice, refreshing.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Poured into a snifter. Pours a hazy gold with a modest soapy head that dissipates fairly quickly. Nice aromas of orange, lemon and white grapefruit with lots of barnyard aromas and some spice. Tart on the palate with lots of citrus flavor that comes through clearly. No overly sour at all and quite enjoyable. Gets funkier as it comes to room temperature. Finish is tart, long and dry. Very enjoyable.

On tap at Side Project, pours a clear copper with an off white head, the aroma has quite a bit of fruit coming through at first with a lot of funk mixing in as well, the flavor has a funky and sour front end with a touch of hops mixed in there as well, not overly tart and sour, but just enough to really get your attention, nice.

Sample at Kraft House No. 5. Cloudy orange-gold color with a medium white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, yeast and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of funky citrus, herbal yeast and biscuit malt. The finish is fruity with a moderately sour citrus aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle @ home, picked up for $10 @ Wilbur’s. Pours a hazy dark copper appearance with a tan head. Mild caramel, light pine, a bit of dankness to go with mild cheese, big mango, pineapple, papaya along with some wine notes. Medium body. Vanilla, white wine, coconut, blood orange, wood, and tannins in the flavor. A bit acidic on the finish. Not something I’d want more than 1/2 to a full bottle of from time to time.
