3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle purchased at Broadway liquors in OKC April 2013
Pours bright orange clear with a small fizzy white head around the rim of the glass. i couldnt get much head here (umm yea ops...) anyway, there is lots of carbonation here cascading in my unibroue glass very effervescent! flavors of cheese, tart lemons, zest, grapes, metallic notes, minerals, alka seltzer sprtizy carbonation, lite funk, brett, but the bright white grape notes come through bigtime through the finish. body is somewhat over-carbonated but for this style, its ok. very spritzy, almost like seltzer water. very solid beer here, alot better than their prairie ale. Some good things coming out of Oklahoma lately, minus the tornadoes.... 2nd and 3rd pour from the 750 showed a very hazy murky hue, lots of yeast going on here. it added some more complexity to the nose especially. Damn good brew!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a mostly clear very dark golden color with a moderate white head. Nose is SUPER sour and dry and makes you salivate just smelling it. Taste isnít as sour as the nose would suggest, though it is quite acidic. Tasty, but best consumed in smaller amounts.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A very careful pour into my New Belgium globe glass produces a three finger thick, pale tan colored head. The beer is a pale amber color that shows a clear, bright, yellow-gold hue when held up to the light. The aroma is quite vinous, reminds me of an oaky white wine of some sort; dry, austerely fruity, quite woody, with a toasted oak edge, and a touch flint like. There is a lightly musty, smoothly funky, and even a light muskiness as well as a touch of urea in the nose as well. A pale malt character provides a dried straw note, and a touch of cracker like grain, which accentuate the sun-toasted woodiness that is found in this beer. The fruit notes remind me of star-fruit, sauvignon-blanc grapes, some tart gooseberry notes, and perhaps a bit of melon like notes. As the beer warms up it gets more herbal.
Up front the beer is dry, tart, and then finishes with an astringent, woody character as well as a bitter bite. Effervescent and light bodied on the palate, yet it manages to finish with a creamy texture. The tartness is lemon like, but has a funky, sort of urea edge to it and really does have a citrus like edge to it. The woody edge to it seems identifiable as hop character as the beer warms up, a bit herbal, sort of on the dank side for hops. It also gets more fruity towards the finish from the hop character as it warms up; it is still restrained due to the dryness, but there are notes of tangelo zest, perhaps a touch of lychee, as well as some funky guava like notes.
A good beer, but a bit confusing too, I am not sure if this is actually soured in the traditional sense, with oranges, zest, Amarillo and Citra hops it may have all its tartness derived from these additions. At this point I would guess that it isnít actually soured, just tart from the ingredients. Quite enjoyable; and I like how light and quaffable this beer is.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a golden yellow with a thin layer of lacing. Smells sour, with some lemony zest going on and some light breadiness. Great mouthfeel, just the right amount of carbonation for a saison. Tastes nice and balanced, with a small sour finish. Overall a very good beer.
