Prairie Standard is our everyday beer. Its a light, crisp saison with a hoppy finish. This beer is dry hopped 1lb per bbl with Motueka hops. A lovely New Zealand hop with a spicy lime like flavor and aroma.

Clear copper and very light amber coloured body with a rich, five centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of grass, scratch & sniff stickers, spent coffee grounds, herbs and very light malt - this is all over the place, but its nice for complexity! Light-bodied; Assertive grassy and herbal hop flavour at first with some bright lemon and citrus hop flavours with no backbone at all. Aftertaste shows the dry hopping, some lighter acidic and pure lemon flavours and a hint of white pepper and some dry spices, but no depth, no body nor much character. Overall, a nicely weighted beer, but too many nuances and juxtapositions for it to be considered purely good without comparison - try the ’original’ Krebs in the can, the taste is fairly similar! I sampled to this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Super Jr Market in San Diego, California on 07-June-2013 for US$4.99 sampled at home in Washington on 11-April-2014.

by myself on a Friday night. Fantastic value for a four pack. Pours clear orange with small head that goes away. Aroma is brett, light crisp hop notes, funky champagne. Taste is smooth fizzy orange zest funk. A very smooth and very very night light crisp beer with a lot of nice funky notes. I love this stuff.

On tap a golden color with slight haze and thin white head. Taste is a bit of mixtures wheat, spice, fruit and a bit sour. Carbonation is good and overall it seems clean and refreshing. Not the standard saison I expected but not bad.

On tap at the Beer Trappe in Lexington. Semi-hazy yellow-gold with a load of tiny carbonation bubbles rising to a modest but head.  Excellent lacing. A style I dislike more often than not, this is the exception.  Although the peppery aroma carries a trace of the farmhouse component I dislike, it is mainly floral and secondly fruity.  Even the bready malt dominates the funk. The flavor largely follows, albeit with more funk evident and some hop bitterness in the finish and aftertaste.  O: refreshing, tame and highly drinkable for style.

Bottle. Thanks to mike12da. Clean, sharp funky nose, yeast, and rotten lemons. Hazy light straw color. Light sour citrus fruit initial / some herbal notes and more tangy citrus / very delicate bitterness in final. Medium body and a bit spritzy. Good stuff. Pleasant. Doesn’t really feature any really distinctive characteristics -- but is well-balanced and has good farmy jumps throughout.

Light peach/pear yellow that’s somewhat cloudy and an eighth inch or so of bright white head. Sour funky scent, aromas of strawberries, funky leathery brett, belgian yeast, coriander and cracked pepper. Lively carbonation, frothy mouthfeel, dry crisp finish. Sour flavor, cracked pepper, lemon, mellow melon, coriander, lime and pine. Very crisp and refreshing brew with welcome complexity.
