COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prairie Standard is our everyday beer. Its a light, crisp saison with a hoppy finish. This beer is dry hopped 1lb per bbl with Motueka hops. A lovely New Zealand hop with a spicy lime like flavor and aroma.

Funky yeast, lemon grass and piney hops... this one’s all over the map. Golden yellow, plenty of fizz. Tastes outright sour, followed by blunt bitter. Body is not crisp, rather it is an initial flush, and then a slow dry out. This is an extreme saison, with element of sour wheat ales.

on tap@LagerLager, Neukölln. Aroma of white pepper, hints of Bazooka Joe, almonds and yeast, and lots of citrus hops. Dry, lean, elegant in taste, with a light sourness. Very balanced. Well made.

12 ounce bottle purchased at Bine & Vine in November 2014 ($3.99). First rating for Prairie. POURS a hazy golden / burnt yello hue with a bit of sediment and three fingers of spongy white foam with very good retention. AROMA of Belgian yeast, soapy hops, mild citrus, mild dank/funk, and a bit of black pepper hanging off the end. FLAVOR of mild lemon, watery tangerine, cardboard-y malts, rustic-musty Belgian yeast, and some white wine. Light bodied with a somewhat dry finish. This sat in the back of the cellar for over a year...did not realize that this was a hoppy saison (and I do like Motueka). So this is past its prime...may have to look for another bottle and drink it fresh. (578, 1010)

Cloudy yellow with a small white head. Rich, flowery aroma with grasses, a little hop, citrus, peppery notes and a hint of sourness, one of the best smelling beers I’ve ever encountered. Taste is a little sweet and sour, not bitter at all. palate is a bit thin but with nice carbonation and easy to drink. Overall if this is their standard beer that’s a damn high standard.

Bottle 0,33l. Pours a golden colour with a white head that fades fairly quicikly. Aroma of oranges, lime leaf, light dough, white pepper. Light bodied, modearte carbonation. Sweet hay and dough, slightly sour citrus, dry and fairly bitter finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: cloudy straw with two fingers of rocky ivory head, excellent retention and lacing. (5/5) Aroma: coriander, lemony citrus, crackery malt, white pepper, dry musty hay. (8/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-low bitter, light funky tart. (7/10) Palate: medium body, moderate-low carbonation, lightly funky finish. (4/5) Decent complexity, some lightly sour lemon and mild barnyard funk intermingled with various spices and crackery (or maybe doughy) malt. If you enjoy the style, this is worth trying. (16/20)

Bottle from VP Aker Brygge enjoyed at home
Yellow, totally hazed, big white frothy head. Smell of spices, hints of banana, other fruity yeast esters, light malts, complex and inviting. Light sweet, bone dry, a quite spicy flavor paired with banana and other yeast flavors. Just delicious! Moderate bitter, grassy tail. A world class saison! Also the label which teach you noodling is hilarious

Clear straw color with white head. Aroma has sweet yeast esters and some fresh lemony note. Taste is yeasty, slightly astringent and mineral. Aftertaste is dry and dusty. Body is on the light side with medium carbonation. Not bad but it’s somehow too simple for my taste.

Bottle. Hay and slight citrus on nose. Golden in colour with hint of haze. Very spritzy mouth feel. Yeast and hops play off each extremely well to give a ’best of both worlds’ take on a saison meets pale ale.
