Tulsa Rugby Ale is an American Pale Ale brewed with Summit and Chinook hops. It’s a medium-bodied ale with notes of biscuit that nicely compliment the piney resin notes the hops add.

Tasted on 9/15/13 from a capped 12oz bottle brought to me by a friend that visited Oklahoma. Pours dark orange with a thick off-white head that slowly recedes to average, but messy lace. The nose is a classic blend of bread malt and some resin and citrus hops along with some earthy American ale yeast. The flavor is the same with a bit more resin than anything else, with the lightly toasted bread malt, earthy yeast, and just a hint of citrus. The body is just under medium with lively, stinging carbonation and a long bread malt and lightly bitter resin hops finish.

Pours hazy peach with medium to tall head, bottle gushed. Aroma of citrus, light fruit, grass. Taste is mild sweet first followed by a funky and peppery finish. Light and dry body with average to lively carbonation.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Not your typical post match brew, but really good. Listed as an APA, with tons of Saison character. Cloudy pale golden body with some floaties and a thick foamy head. Yeast is predominant aroma, taste builds some hop bite. Smooth and creamy, mild fruity notes too. Gender bender for sure, but extremely tasty.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip. A decent funky IPA, pretty easy to drink. Reminded me of American Style IPA prairie collaborated on a few years ago.

Pours a hazy golden color from the bottle with fluffy white head that dissipates to leave light lace. Aroma of piney bitterness, herbal earth, and a hint of farmhouse esters. Taste is light citrus, clean pale malt sugars, and a hint of pine. Bubbly carbonation, maybe some wild yeast in here, but not bad.

Really quite good. This is cloudy yellow with a big head. The tingly mouthfeel and citrusy flavor really remind me more of the trendy Belgian Pale ale style than an APA but it’s tasty nonetheless.
