Tulsa Rugby Ale is an American Pale Ale brewed with Summit and Chinook hops. It’s a medium-bodied ale with notes of biscuit that nicely compliment the piney resin notes the hops add.

Tasted on 9/15/13 from a capped 12oz bottle brought to me by a friend that visited Oklahoma. Pours dark orange with a thick off-white head that slowly recedes to average, but messy lace. The nose is a classic blend of bread malt and some resin and citrus hops along with some earthy American ale yeast. The flavor is the same with a bit more resin than anything else, with the lightly toasted bread malt, earthy yeast, and just a hint of citrus. The body is just under medium with lively, stinging carbonation and a long bread malt and lightly bitter resin hops finish.

Appearance was clear light gold with creamy white lasting 1 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are soft citrus fruits with slight woody pine and pale sweetness, clean yeasts profile. Taste are tangerine, orange upfront with soft pale mid sip. Clean yeasts with soft pine resin woody finish. Palate was smooth creamy CO2 with light body, then lasting balanced slightly drying finish. Overall a solid Pale but Iam not a fan of Chinook hops though.

12oz bottle. Finings-laden year-old penny color with a low, white head. Grassy, dried citrus peel & lightly resinous hops were initially overpowered by sweet malt, but eventually the hops settled in, though seemed a bit dulled. Medium+ body and medium carbonation.

Bottle@home from WineSpot, Cleveland, USA. Medium multi layered aroma of pine and hops, some resin on the background. Interestingly sweet and bitter. Medium staying natural white head and semi-hazy liquid. Medium bit dry taste of sweeter malts, some resin, pine and hops. Quite well balanced. Wide taste spectrum and long bitter aftertaste with sweet malts. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall high quality beer with its own, bit dull twist.

Draft at Ei8ht Ball, served in a flight. Pours a clear, bright gold with a small white head that settles into a ring and leaves trailing lace behind. Notes of bright, light florals, citrus zest, pale and sweet biscuit malts, faint bubblegum, and pine resin. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, fruity, funky mouthfeel. Good beer.

[Bottle (12oz)] Pours a hazy yellow-gold with a large lasting frothy white head. Some lacing. Aroma and flavour are decently hoppy, if a bit light, along with bready malt. Flavour’s a touch watery and has a moderate bitter finish. Average bodied. A good Pale Ale.
