COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Vanilla Noir is Prairie Noir aged on organic, fair trade vanilla beans, and let’s just say it takes a lot of beans! The vanilla flavor compliments the whiskey barrel aging process and adds a delicious layer to the beer.

Bottle. Nose of vanilla, coffee, tart, bretty aspect, some grapefruit. Quite bretty at first, with a sour edge, though that diminished as it opened up, being taken over by the Vanilla. It was far from unpleasant, though I am not sure it was intentional. Dark brown, with lace. Dry and crisp.

12oz bottle pours a dark brown/black with a large light tan head. Sweet fruity aroma with Chocolate and hints of vanilla. Taste of smooth medicinal vanilla, alcohol, and chocolate. Not by favorite of the Noirs.

Dark pour, small had, low carbonation. Vanilla and coffee in the aroma but also a heavy funk note that im not sure was intentional. Vanilla is present but again this bottle is heavy on the oak and quite funky.... If you told me it was a dark sour id agree, but im not certain that was the brewers intention or what other bottles have been either.

Bottle from Beerenberger. Aroma of chicken coup. Taste is a little chicken feather and Greece. Vanilla is there, but not well integrated with coffee.

Bottle... This beer lifts! Pours murky and dark brown with a minimal, creamy, off-white head. Decent retention. The aroma supplies heaps of beautiful, bright vanilla and candied nuts. Not much else going on here. Not much else needed. Full-bodied and creamy with tingly carbonation. The flavor presents tons of dark chocolate, toasted nuts and vanilla with a smidge of cardboard-like oxidation in the aftertaste. Kudos to biggsbowler for supplying this world-class treat!

Bottle. Date unknown. Pours black with no head. Aroma is oak, char, boozy. Taste is the same with some vanilla/licorice notes at work. Not the best combo and the least favorite of the series. That said, I finished the bottle.

Bottle @ Another Tasting, courtesy of me. Pours a pitch black beer with a small tanned head on top. Aroma is rather peppery, spicy, little vanilla, loads of tobacco, wood. The pepper is also strong represented in the flavor with a light burn in the back. Flavor overal is medium bitter, light sweetness detected, The vanilla is not as present as I hoped it to be. Still an ok beer, very good even, but where is the vanilla.

Bottle at another tasting. Black pour with tan foam. Aroma is really spicy much more spicy than I expected, perfumy, woody, tobacco, cocoa, chili peppers, quite intense. Taste is dry, really spicy, tons of cocoa, ginger, allspice, black pepper, extremely spicy. Palate is med-full bodied with med carbonation. Decent

Bottle shared at Another Tasting thanks to MrHangover. Pours near black with a beige head. Aroma is spicy up front with wood, tobacco, cinnamon, vinous barrel aspects and milk chocolate. Flavor is over moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Light full bodied with soft carbonation.
