Bottle thanks to Phillip in OK. Poured black with decent tan head. Aroma of heavy sweet vanilla light choc like baking. Light carb med bod. Pretty bitter choc taste that doesn't match the aroma. Wish it was sweeter and more taste of vanilla.

Rated from notes taken on 1 Jun 2014 -- Did a side-by-side tasting of Regular, Coffee, and Vanilla Noir’s. This is an awesome brew. This gets the edge above the other two. The Vanilla just gives it a little something extra that the others lack. The vanilla melds extremely well with this stout.

Bottle, RBAG 2014 prelim. Hearty near black, similar profile to the regular Noir with a truckload of vanilla sweetness. Not "extracty" , but if you don’t like vanilla, then this probably will not ring your bell.

Bottle to goblet at the RBAG14 warmup Vanilla, oak, cherry, and caramel. Dark cloudy brown, tan head. Tons of vanilla, coffee, caramel, and toasted malt. I’m loving the vanilla.

Bottle shared by Ferris at RBAG. Thick black pour with a thin layer of creamy mocha head. Aroma is very vanilla forward, hard to pick up much else, a bit of oak, some roasted malts. Taste is thick syrupy mouthfeel, light vanilla, a bit of roasted malts, with a mild bitter finish.

Bottle - Rich vanilla notes with some light chocolate. Jet black with a decent brown head. Dark chocolate and malts with some barrel notes. Nose is bigger than flavor.

Thanks to joedevivre. Tasted side by side with regular noir. Much sweeter and fruiter than its sister. Very dark brown with khaki head. Aroma of vanilla, barrel, oak, cocoa, dark fruit. Taste had a big almost candy sweetness. Full bodied. Good stuff but I think prefer the normal noir.

Shared grey / silver waxed bottle with a friend. Poured a dark cloudy Brown colour with a mocha head. There is nothing to say about this beer. INFECTED! Sour metallic taste, with burned coffee, no vanilla. How can They sell this s*** if there are so Many infected bottles?? Big shame! Not worth the hype in Any way if They sell this!

Sample @ RBWG, Ashville. Deep brown pour with a tight tan head. Strong vanilla. Cowtails and glazed donuts. Sweet. Toffee and dirt. The taste is similar. Very rich and decadent vanilla dominates. Cocoa and dark chocolate. Slightly bitter. Full, quite oily and viscous. Really pleasing.
