Once again, I want to like Prairie not only because they're literally in my backyard, have amazing artwork, and dish out new brews constantly...but damn it Prairie, please venture out a bit further. It's like you have one saison and one stout that you just vary ingredients or barrels on just enough to market it as a new brew. Give us a pale, white, IPA, red, SOMETHING! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle share thanks to beechner224. Pours a deep dark brown, nearly black, brown head. Big roasty chocolate aroma, oak, light bourbon. Lots of vanilla, odd tartness, oaky, light bourbon, chalky.

bottleshare thanks to Beechner224. Nose is soft vanilla with some booze. Pours very black. Some coffee as it warms. A ton of vanilla in the flavor. Other than that its kinda plain.

Bottle. Pours black. Same aroma as original noir. Coffee, but no vanilla. Taste is vanilla, coffee. Again, ok.

Had thanks to the reverend and Prazack. Color is dark brown.I am a sucker for Vanilla and it does wonders for this beer compared to the normal noir. Present in the aroma and taste. Surprised that this beer comes in at 11%.

Bottle at home. Pour is viscous black with a creamy brown head and great lacing. Rich vanilla bean, cake batter, espresso, earthiness, toasted malt, light coconut, and cocoa nibs in the aroma. Taste is sweet milk chocolate, lactose, Sumatra, whiskey, oak, roast, marshmallows, and graham crackers with a touch of heat on the backed. Velvety mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Decadent sweet stout. Tasty stuff.

28/III/14 - 12Fl. Oz. bottle @ De Hopduvel (Gent) - BB: n/a (2014-313) Thanks to Bobochamp for sharing the bottle!

Little cloudy dark brown beer, no head. Aroma: ltos of vanilla, burnt caramel, sweet stuff, fudge, butterscotch, fake chocolate ("koetjesreep"). MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: pretty sour start, surprisingly, mocha, coffee, dark chocolate, bitter hops, somewhat of a citric acidity in it. Aftertaste: lots of vanilla after the first sip, lots of bitter overpowering hops after the other sips, coffee grit, cocoa powder. Great beer, only a tad too much bitterness.

36cl bottle, shared by BoBoChamp. Many thanks for all the beers shared today! APPEARANCE: very dark brown to black beer, no foam. NOSE: wood, caramel, dried red fruits, berries, alcohol. TASTE: creamy, whiskey and peat aftertaste, though not too much for me, alcohol is noticeable, coffee.

The vanilla seems more like an artifact of bourbon than of vanilla beans. Rich and chocolaty with coffee, caramel and spice.

Bottle: Thanks to Jason for trading me this one. Deep brown brew, not quite black, capped with a slightly foamy, light-tan head that recedes rather quickly. From the aroma, it almost smells rum-barrel aged, my guess is due to the aromatic blend of whiskey & vanilla. Almost dessert-like on the nose with some faint dark fruit, vanilla cream cake & a back-end reminiscent of a chocolate milkshake, all complete with mildly boozy undertones. Taste has lots of roast, chocolate, & even coffee beans, although the vanilla aspect doesn’t hit nearly as hard on the palate (unfortunately). It’s there, but quite tame. Finish with light ash, roasted malt & dark chocolate, wood, & a boozy, whiskey twinge. Very nice brew overall, just wish the vanilla would’ve translated a little better in the flavor.

Bottle: The aroma consists of chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and light whiskey. It pours a dark brown with some orange highlights. It has a small beige that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of chocolate and faint molasses. The flavor has moderate vanilla, roasted coffee, and a touch of whiskey. It’s medium-full bodied with mild carbonation.
