Commercial Description:
Crafted using an eye opening amount of real French roast coffee to lend a rich, toasty flavor. Starbucks, eat your heart out!
For those of you with a taste for coffee, our Java Stout is a real eye-opener. This opaque, black ale has a smooth, roasty, full-bodied flavor and goes great with steaks and chops or as dessert in a glass!

#935, On Tap at the brewery in Schaumburg about 2 weeks ago. My dad, who is usually not into craft beer was up visiting me and we drove by the place, and he actually suggested checking it out. I had never been to the schaumburg location, it was cool. The beer was totally black with no head. Nose was very strong with coffee but not much else. Taste was just about the same and thin. Very drinkable.

jet black pour small thick tan head good lacing. Aroma is mild some coffee notes. Palate is pretty thin. Flavor is watered coffee & chocolate which come through big but lack any real malt or presence. This beer needs to be much bigger and need way more malt.

Pours to a very dark brown body with a thin beige head and weak lacing. The aroma is used Folger’s coffee grounds and soap. The flavor is overly roasted Folger’s coffee and overly bitter roasted black malt. The palate is weak, watery, where’s the malt?

On tap at Goose Island Stoutfest. Poured mahogany with a loose-bubbled beige head. Nose was of strong roasted coffee and cola. Flavor just came across as cold coffee... not bad stuff, but I couldn’t find much else in there. Low carbonation, and rather flat-feeling... flavors didn’t flow so well. OK attempt... would be better with more carbonation and additional flavor and aroma elements.
