4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft sample @ Brugs Bier Festival 2013 as “No Hops No Glory” aka Préaris Blond given the Randal treatment with unnamed (possibly American) fresh hops. Pours hazy golden with a creamy white head. Lots of creamy citrus USA hops, quite heavy, touch fruity & light creamy grains. Taste is lots of citrus, creamy ,light milky grains, bitter floral with some light fruity & white sugar sweetness underneath it. I have been told that if you would just run water through the same installation you would get the same flavours which seems about right. This is still a nice & refreshing hop tea of sort. Body is obviously hazy, touch lower carb.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at the March 2014 De Molen monthly tasting. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a thick white head, some broken lace and a few bubbles. The aroma is yeast, light peach. The flavour is medium bitter light sour with a crisp refreshing yeast light fruit hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. An interesting beer. Nice enough to taste, but i’m note sure i’d buy it again. It doesn’t have much beer magnetism for me.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly lasting.
Body is hazy medium yellow, unfiltered.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (flowers), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of lemon/lime/orange peels, pepper, gum.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Pleasant and clean, not what I was expecting given that this comes out of the De Proef factory. Lots of citrus peel and floral character...simple but nice. Could use more bitterness or tartness in the finish to make it more interesting (once you swallow, it pretty much vanishes completely), but all in all it’s decent.

Tap @ Tilburg. Hazy blonde color, short head. Aroma of soft spicy yeast. Doesnt feel like saison yeast actually. Flowery hops, bit spicy. Soft bitter taste, bit sweet. Not too exciting to be honest.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
33cl Bottle: BBD 29 May 2014. Poured into my huge ’Judas’ glass on 5 Aug 2013 during a Belgian Tasting Evening with myself!
Looked fine in the glass: bright golden body with a large head (you can really pour fast into a Judas glass) of snow white bubbles.
Light nose of yeasts, hop notes and freshly cut grass.
The taste was also light, delicate might be a better word. Hints of flavours rather than ’in your face’ powerful features. Slight citrus feel to the piece, with a mini grain undertone. I found it pleasant enough but it was completely overshadowed by the other Belgian brews I had around it.
In short: a refreshing but weak Belgian offering, start with this, don’t have it mid-session.
