Earthy aroma. Hay, yeast, with citrus notes. A hazy golden pour with a robust foamy, mostly lasting, white head and moderate lacing. The taste is lightly bitter. Some fruit notes initially, followed by hay and grain in the middle, with a satisfactory hoppy finish. Medium-light body with crisp carbonation. Crisp dry mouthfeel. Overall, the the taste on this one is quick with a big dry finish and aftertaste. Refreshing by itself or with food.

wow, this has a very nice bitterness to it. Cloudy and an aroma of apples, just a hint. Citrus fruits but with a bitter aftertaste. Nice. Bottle from a new wine and liquor store in Groningen: Roemer in the A-straat.

Yellow pour with a white head. The aroma has some biscuit and grass notes. The flavor is a mix of toffee, biscuit malt, grass and yeast. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

3fourths (7859) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 8, 2013
UPDATED: DEC 9, 2013 Highly bitter lemon pith, grass, wood oil astringency, bitter green leaves with a slightly unclean / laundry soap yeast presence. Basil and marijuana green leaf / herbal aroma, some alcohol noticed. Medium body, low carbonation, low sweetness (apparently), high bitterness. Mashed apple and pear esters seem to amplify this greenness. Bracing bittering in a lengthy finish becomes unenjoyable due to the astringent wood oil character. That said, it’s easy to just sip and not think about and it comes across as a decent beer then. But for a Belgian-made saison / hoppy golden ale? Doesn’t fit where I want it to.
