Bottle. Thanks bobochamp. Pours deep red to black with a small, staying, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has sweet caramel, chocolate, cherries, Cognac, plums and raisins. Medium to low carbonation, fine dry and quite oily mouthfeel. Flavour is soft, fat caramel, plums, vinious, oak, chocolate. Quite elegant finish with some warmth. Nice.

37,5 cl @home #806 fles . ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle No 1875 at home, 375 ml, into a tulip. ABV 10% Dark brown colour with deep ruby shades when hold against the light. Small light beige head, thick enough, with very good retention. Light lacing on the glass. Aroma has plenty of wine but not the characteristic cognac one. So moslty grapes actually and some nuts coming from the back. Taste has nuts upfront, followed by lots of wood, grapes, old red wine. Sweet all in all, the alcohol well hidden. Medium body with notable carbonation. Overall an okay quad and nothing more, I was expecting much more.

07.03.2014, 0,375l bottle (#998) @ home:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly neutral, caramel malts, dried dark fruits, oak, grass, sugar, grapes. Taste is kind of harsh boozy and dry, caramel malts, oak, grass, alcohol, metal tank, burnt caramel, toast, almond essence. Longlasting bitterness, harsh dry mouthfeel. Meh!!

Trappist1 (420) - Diest, BELGIUM - MAR 7, 2014
375ml Bottle, number 291. Dark brown color with a beige head. Nose is rich: malts, liqueur, nuts, bit earthy, bit peppery, dried fruits. Taste: chocolate, bit of moccha, Alcohol is present but well hidden. Finish is first sweet, even sourish, but gets than very bitter and dry. Cognac finish, if present, is very subtile. Okey BA-experiment.

Bottle from a store. less cognac and wood then I expected in smell and taste. Cognac, caramel, liquorice, and a bit of fruit. Nice beer but the aftertaste is fairly short for this kind of beer.

Very dark amber - brown beer. Small bubbly pale tan head. Palate is light and mildly crisp. Light wood, light alcohol spice. Very light touches of mint and generic fruits. Very mild Cognac just before the dry finish. Not bad but was expecting and hoping for something bolder.
