4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
375ml bottle @ the 11th Shrewsbury Bottle Share, Feb 15, courtesy of myself. Big bourbon aroma, lusciously sweet vanilla bourbon-infused quad. Kinda wish I’d selfishly kept this all to myself. Ah well.

Cheers Mike for sharing this. 375cl bottle: BBD 26 Nov 16. Bottle number 00447 split between five of us on 17 Feb 2015 in Shrewsbury. Brown pour with an off-white topping, slight haze to the last drop out the bottle (my sample). Nose of maltiness and vanilla with some woody hints behind a yeasty undertone. The taste a little sour with all the aromas showing up again in the flavours. Decent and different. Good body depth, with traces of the bourbon oozing through the finish.

Draft. Dark amber pour, some acetone and tartness, very messy tasting barrel aged brew.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Murky light brown and slimmest ringed head. Green apple, sunday roast, a bit creamy. Odd tang throughout, loose sweetness and a bit of an odd sickly bitterness. Soft enough carbonation, but I’m not sure if it’s better or worse than the Ardbeg but the sweetness pushes things through.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap pour@BBF ’15, ZO. Very creamy dark pour with beige crema. Overwhelming young bourbon vanilla soapy nose, which continues to dominate in taste: buttery vanilla, butterscotch smother dark nutty roasted malts. Late hint of berry. Unbalanced like a comfort food dessert with an unexpected fluffy mouthfeel. Nice treat for Maker’s Mark fans, though.
