UPDATED: JAN 2, 2015 37.5cl bottle served in a Prearis glass. Pour dark brown with a long lived head. Aroma is pretty lacklustre with very little presence. Taste is fruitcake, bourbon, chocolate and vanilla with the buttery bourbon notes being more evident as it breathes (or warms). Truly excellent quad and I would say better than Mikkeller’s Monk’s Brew (Bourbon Barrel Aged) as the carbonation is slightly less violent and the bourbon more pronounced but otherwise you would say they were separated at birth.

Bottle at Kerstbierfest 2014. Deep brown bordering on black pour with lasting foamy head. aroma is fruity, nice tropical fruit, light booze, lots of bourbon, sweet vanilla aromas, fruity and floral. Taste is sweet, rich mellow bourbon and malt flavors, well balanced, really nice sipper that I should enjoy again in a cozier context.

Shared by martjoobolut, thanks! Brown beer, brown head. Nose is lots of bourbon, peat, dried fruit, caramel, alcohol. Flavor is more dried fruit, malt, caramel. Bourbon is not as pronounced as in the aroma, but still very much present. Warming booze in the finish as well as in the aftertaste. Heavy and warming.
