3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Beer Planet, Brussels
Dark brown color with generous creamy head. Some aroma of alcohol, malt, yeast; sweet; some fruit and cellar mold; peculiar but I dig it. Good flavor of dark malts, rich, some chocolate, mild spicy presence, medium sweetness, and some corky character. Light impression of Porto wine; alcohol warmth.
A bit out of the ordinary but very good.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown colour, beige head. Quite light aroma, caramel, liquorice, candy sugar, light sour notes. Bittersweet flavour, roasted malts. Bit thin body for a quadrupel. Sweet finish with roasted bitter notes.
Quite enjoyable, though feeling somewhat light for a quadrupel. Still, another decent brew by De Proefbrouwerij.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Very nice, full flavour dark beer. Its mature almost in any way. When it reaches the age of 10 months ist clearly much thicker and even fuller of flavour. Very good brew in the dark belgian style.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A very dark amber colored pour with an off-white head. Really strange aroma for a quadrupel: tons of roasted malt and chocolate. There’s a decent sweetness, some toffee, and licorice. Tastes a touch boozy, but there’s a lot of roast and chocolate to cover it up. Some dark fruits, a bit of bitterness, and some licorice.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from 2 be. Pours pretty dark brown with a creamy/bubbly beige head. Aromas of earth and dark fruit. Med + body. Flavor is dark fruit, dark malt, earth, perhaps a hint of treacle, and maybe even tobacco. It’s heading towards dry, has a decent amount of bitter, and is quite tasty. I think it will stand up to some of the top rated quads.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
someone recomeded this when drinking black damnation. it was ’kind of the same’
beginning : pours brown, not even nearly black ! no big scent as well, whats the link between this and a black mes? nothing
but damn, after tasting this, this IS a darn good beer ! much better than expected. i think i recognize this one’s taste but cant figure out from where ( what beer) but anyway, this was cheap so i’ll definatly buy more ! recomeded very much !
okay, maybe just mentaly, but i do taste some hints like a stout... but it aint no stout ! bitter ( yeah thats right, i’m beginning to be able to name tastes ! finaly ) carbonation is just right in this one ... maybe on the ’ downside’ a little little bit to bitter in the aftertaste, and to ’sharp’ carbonation in the mouth ( not like the struise where it’s soft’ but this definatly is a positive surprise ! way to go prearis !
