Bottle at Delirium Cafe, pours a deep dark brown with a small amber tinge and a medium tan head. Aroma brings out lots of toffee and brown sugar, and some cocoa and coffee grounds further back. Flavour is quite burnt, with burnt coffee grounds, with toffee and burnt sugar. This is the most burnt quad I’ve had. Quite complex nevertheless, but a little difficult to drink. Not great.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, deep brown colour with a beige and firm medium-sized foamy head. Nutty dark malty aroma with notes of dried fruits, plums, leather, yeasty spices and a tinge of brown sugar, accompanied by a mildly vinous sourness. Moderately sweet and delicately bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a calm, well-carbonated mouthfeel. Slightly roasted malty aroma with notes of caramel, dried fruits, chocolate, mocha and slightly liqueur-like sugary sweetness, accompanied by a mildly roasty bitterness towards the lasting and alcohol-warming finish. Very nice and not too fat. 22.V.14

Pours dark brown with a rich head that dies down to a steady irish coffee foam. Typical fruity banana aroma but with some almost stout-ish notes, burnt toffee, coffee. Aroma is reflected in the taste with the fruitiness up-front giving way to a bitter, puckered finish. Creamy palate and subtle carbonation make this an honest, well made beer.

A dark brown beer with a medium and beige head. The nose of strong dark fruits and prune, both of them are there also as a fresh mode. Some sweet berries, yeast and bananas, strenght of alcohol. Taste of strong dark fruits, raisins, not heavy, lots of herbs in the end that dries the mouth. Strong taste. Almos full bodied, lightening by high carbonation. Quite simple but also balanced. Good beer.
