750ml. Big foamy off-white/beige head on top of an unfiltered burgundy brown body. Chalky subdued aroma. Fruity and rich, but doesn’t have the depth or mouthfeel of typical Belgian examples. Raisin, red fruit all the way. Sweet and sugary, not that impressive for a Belgian. OK.

Goryczka piołunowo alkoholowa, średnia do niskiej, długa. Nagazowanie poniżej średniego, klujące w język. Półpełne, syropowe w odczuciu. Tylko poprawny Quadrupel, dość gęsty, deserowy, z wyraźnym rozgrzewającym alkoholem i zbyt delikatnym aromatem. Brak tu intensywniej zaznaczonych efektów pracy belgijskich drożdży.

0.33l bottle. Black body, light-brown head. Aroma of cocoa, coffee, cherries, spicy hops and booze. Taste of cherries, cocoa, floral hops, booze and beetroot (which is quite weird for me). Won’t be my favourite quad.

Nez : caramel très prononcé, de la levure, avec un fond fumé. La bouche est bien plus riche : on y trouve en dominantes caramel/levure. En soutien (très équilibré) chocolat noir, légèrement boisé. Très bonne bière !

Noticeably roasty, lots of coffee and vanilla, Abv well integrated, some jam and earthiness as well.

[9/19/15] Draught at the brewery in Oostvleteren. Reddish amber. Aroma of caramel, malt, cookies, dark fruits. Sweet flavor with caramel, dark fruits, cookies, a bit of alcohol. Medium to full-bodied. Quite rounded. Quite nice.

Unusual quad. Mahogany dark, with a thin layer of off-white head and some sticky lacing. Aroma is cocoa powder and milk chocolate with just a hint of plummy fruit. Full bodied but low carb for a quad. Flavour also led by chocolate, with plums and red berries in the background, then finally the malt.

mahogny colour, huge beige head; aroma of dried fruits like plum and cherry, cocoa powder and herbal notes; taste of dried fruits (plum, maybe figs), milk chocolate, some roasted bitterness and spicy alcohol; great quadrupel

from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier - pours a cloudy dark brown beer under a long lasting creamy beige foam; strong notes of caramel , walnuts, molasses and brown sugar; fairly sweet; full-bodied, long spicy and malty finish with more notes of molasses and some apparent alcohol

Poured from 33cl bottle [10/07/16]. Medium muddy brown with beige head. Roasted malt, bready yeast, alcohol. Not what you’d typically expect from a quad. Bitter finish.
