3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 33 cl, BBE 25.09.2014. A bit of a gusher here. Pours dark brown in color with creamy tan head. Malty sweetness, brown sugar, dark syrup and ripe dadles in aroma, there are even slightly roasted dark fruits as well. Perhaps some hints of herbal notes as well. A bit vinous taste at first. Feels a bit bitter in taste too. Ending is more to the sweet side with them brown sugar and dark fruity notes coming forward, but still slight dry and wooden in aftertaste. A bit harsh, which lowers the score a bit.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
33cl bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Hazy deep red to brown color with a nice red glare coming through. Full sized nice lacing lightly creamy beige head. Aroma has malts, wood and a slightly sourish component. Taste malts, dried fruits, again a slightly sourish component and lightly some fruitpeel, orangepeel maybe. Medium to full body, medium to full carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle thx to benzai. Hazy deep red to brown with a full sized, lacing beige head. Smells wood, a bit like a barley wine, sweet, dark chocolate. I think my nose is failing me, but whatever. Tastes hops, oak, quite nice. Dark chocolate in the aftertaste. Full body, medium carbo.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
09.01.13. Bottle. Large, light brown foam. Very dark, clear amber color. Aroma of some coffee and caramel, chocolate, buttery, sweet, maybe some cinnamon. Overall nice aroma. Taste is bitter, some coffee, alcohol. Smooth mouthfeel, pretty long bitter aftertaste.
Overall, nice aroma but otherwise average. I was told this is noticeably different from the original beer the competition winner submitted and won with.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Beer Planet, Brussels
Dark brown color with generous creamy head. Some aroma of alcohol, malt, yeast; sweet; some fruit and cellar mold; peculiar but I dig it. Good flavor of dark malts, rich, some chocolate, mild spicy presence, medium sweetness, and some corky character. Light impression of Porto wine; alcohol warmth.
A bit out of the ordinary but very good.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown colour, beige head. Quite light aroma, caramel, liquorice, candy sugar, light sour notes. Bittersweet flavour, roasted malts. Bit thin body for a quadrupel. Sweet finish with roasted bitter notes.
Quite enjoyable, though feeling somewhat light for a quadrupel. Still, another decent brew by De Proefbrouwerij.

Bottle. Very nice, full flavour dark beer. Its mature almost in any way. When it reaches the age of 10 months ist clearly much thicker and even fuller of flavour. Very good brew in the dark belgian style.
