Deep copper body with a beige head that never disappears, and that laces the glass very well. Malty and strong aroma of dark caramel, dark dried fruits, some strange-ish notes of rotten fruit, brown sugar and juniper berries. The pretty strong flavour is a bit more roasted than your average quad, I actually get hints of coffee. The dark dried fruits are more obvious though, along with spices and alcohol, and in the back I get anise seeds, juniper berries, brown sugar, burnt sugar and hints of vanilla. I miss a more pronounced Belgian yeasty profile. Moderate sweet and moderate bitter taste. Full-bodied and quite lively carbonated, some dryness in the finish. A nice one.
[33 cl bottle, enjoyed 1 year before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Aker Brygge, Oslo]

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2016 Birra dal colore scuro impenetrabile. Aromi tostati, di caramello e di cioccolato fondente, prugne e ciliege. Una birra complessa e ricca di sfumature. Gusto perfettamente equilibrato tra dolcezza e tostatura. Finale lunghissimo. Corpo pieno sensazione alcolica piacevole e carbonatazione bassa.
Una birra fantastica, regale.

Good belge appearance, it calls you to drink it. Aroma is like round mämmi, aka dark malty, choco. Palate bursts with fullness, lasting. Taste is lingering, very fruity, roasty choco, slight acidic after taste, excellent.

Bottle shared with JMD in board Fridtjofen. Nutty brown. Pale brown head. Aroma and taste of malt, nuts and dry berries. Bitter berries and malt in aftertaste. Quite dry and carbonated, thereby also easily drinkable.
