A beer that needs time to blossom but when it does... Wow. The coffee and caramel come through. Deceptive in alcohol content. Not too belgian. Bottle from Roemers in Groningen.

Served in a small snifter from a large bottle. Hazy dark brown with a durable, creamy, dark tan head that leaves superb lacing. Very good and typical aroma, but the flavor is a bit disappointing, especially In the aftertaste where eventually a mildly bitter and burnt flavor is almost all that is left. Feel: full, or near full, body, medium and very soft carbonation.

Tap @ Eindhoven, small sample. Hazy brown color, short head. Aroma of caramel malt, bit chocolat, slight spicy yeast. Bit sweet taste, hint of bitter. I also tried the coffee infused version, which they made with a Randall the Enamel Animal, which was absolutely lovely of fresh ground earthy and spicy coffee. A great addition to a bit boring base beer to be honest. Rating is for the base beer, with coffee is way better.

Bottle. Pours brown with wild tan head. Aroma is a bit nutty, peppery, some burnt sugar. Flavor is much the same with some sweetness, spicy and a somewhat astringent finish. Medium body with high, fizzy carbonation. Overall, not bad.
