At Cafe Rose Red - Bruges. Rich Smoke aroma with more of a porter appearance than a creamy quad. The last sniff is all roast, as the taste is of a deep, dark malt. The alcohol burn is consistent with it's 10% weight. Maybe somewhat reminiscent of Allagash Quad from years gone by. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Muckey’s. Poured into a stem glass. A very dark purplish-brown color with a light tan head that settles to a thick lace. Dark malt aromas, almost smoky. Flavor is of dark malts with lots of toffee and chocolate notes. Maybe a hint of coffee. Some prune. Body is very smooth. Nice bitterness at the end.

Tried this on 1/12/13 with the bottle showing maturing date of 22/11/13. This is one of the crates of the second batch which I bought at Marlou’s and I was storing, expecting/hoping this beer to age very well. Dark brown, beige head. Nose gives a lot of coffee, dark chocolate. Taste is moccha, powder chocolate (like the "Nesquik-rabbit"), coffee bitter, slightly alcoholic. Finish is dry, bitter, correct but hardly any taste evolution. I had expected more of two years of correct storing, remember the "fresh" brew as better. Will do a vis-à-vis tasting with a new one.
