Dark brown beer with beige head. Aroma of malt, toasted bread and yeast. Taste of roasted malt, strong coffee. Taste is quickly overruled by the bitter taste that continuing until the finish.

Pours hazy dark brown with a frothy, lasting tan head. The aroma contains a lot of malts, caramel, chocolate, marzipan dark fruits, yeast and toffee. It tastes medium to heavy sweet and light bitter, long roasted finish. Oily texture and soft carbonation. Ideal dessert beer; very good.

Has the classic look and mouthfeel, but lacks complexity and richness in the aroma. Alcohol is well hidden. Not bad but had better quad.

Todellinen herkutteluolut kylmiin talvi-iltoihin.

750ml, bottled March 25th 2014. It pours t dark brown, over an inch of off white foam and kills it with the lacing. Dark pitted fruit and caramel malt straight up in the smell. Hint of slight oxidation. The taste is delightful. Dark pitted fruit with a mild sweetness from the malt and, again, hints of oxidation. Bit of cardboard and butterscotch. In a quantity that’s easily manageable for my palate. I call it full bodied with medium carbonation. An excellent example of a Quad here. I am glad that I got to enjoy a bottle all the myself.

330ml bottle thanks to a holidaying friend. Pours clear dark brown with a thick beige head. Aromas of blue cheese, stewed prunes, toffee. Taste is light sweet, herbal, more prunes, faint chocolate. Light yeasty finish. Very drinkable.

Dark brown with moderate head. A: molasses, sweet dark malts, plum, fig, rye note, mocha note. T: follows aroma, despite all the flavor elements very well balanced. Bitter finish with strong mocha coffee note.

Dark brown and full-bodied. Roasted malty aroma with spicy notes, and a similar rich malty flavour with notes of coffee. Full sweet taste with a solid, almost high, bitterness that is unusual for the style. Long and powerful finish. Overall, I like this quadrupel a lot. It is untraditional by being more malty than fruity, as well as being far more bitter and having coffee notes, but I find it well-balanced, and very tasty.

Too sweet and uninteresting for me. Green apples, candy sugar, raisins, light hop grass notes. Carbonation is light and the fruit notes are a bit out of whack. Alcohol comes in at the end wth a light warmth

Bottle to trappist glass Consummation: Berries, dark fruits, hint of peach, then loads of malt, bread, anise, clove, and yeast. Adjunct: Aroma of nuts, caramel, candied sugar, and granny smith apple; medium bodied with an astringency; hazy golden brown with a thin tan head.
