Mørk brun med medium høyde på skummet. Aroma av tørket frukt, karamell, litt kaffe og litt belgisk gjær. I smaken finner jeg brent karamell, søt malt, mild kaffe og noe tørket frukt. Medium/tykk konsistens. Noe bitterhet i ettersmaken

Very creamy head. Dark red and no haze. Weak nose. Taste is sweet. Candy cane, lots of butterscotch and leather and wood. Yeah butterscotch heaven. Astringent finish

13.11.2014, 0,33l bottle @ home:
Big creamy longlasting head. Aroma is kind of neutral, grain, hay, grass, dark malts, burnt caramel, minerals, dried dark fruits, sugar. Taste is harsh boozy, alcohol, harsh grass, cardboard, spices, bark, weeds, perfume, citrus peel, burnt caramel. Medium to longlasting bitterness, harsh mouthfeel. Meh!

Deep brown, head like a root beer float. Malty estery nose. Quite malty with some strong coffee notes in the finish. Odd beer.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet. Two finger beige head. Dark brown body. Aroma is toffee, dark fruits, brown sugar, herbs and something earthy. Taste is mostly sweet. The high ABV percentage is well camouflaged. Very creamy and nice mouthfeel.

33 cl. bottle @ home, Bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. Dark brown with a light beige head. Aroma full of malts, caramal and dark fruits. Bittersweet with a very creamy mouthfeel. Nice alcohol warmth suitable for this type of beer. Very deep satisfying finish. Very nice quadrupel.

Bottle at home. Nice chocolat brown colour with a creamy coloured foam. Smells like caramel, chocolate, a little bit coffee and a bit roasty, at the back you also have some alcohol. The taste is medium bitterness, and a bit umami. You have nice chocolat and coffee taste its also has a bit smoke. Very nice.

Bottle thanks to Bruce! Pours amber with a rich, creamy off-white head. Aroma is ripe, dark fruit, and some caramel. Flavor follows and is somewhat bitter, maybe a bit overly so for the style. Body is full, and well carbonated. Really nice beer.

33cl bb05/16. A glowing mahogani purple pour oozes fallen autumn leaf, dried dark fruit peel phenolics and a generous whiff of jenever - a literalist welcome to rural East Flanders in late october. Taste translates more layers of chestnut peel and woody, shrubby bitterness, old & dried raisin caramels rather than really dark fruit-infused sweetness, quickly petering out in a lingering astringent sensation with more distinct jenever ethanol notes joining in. Yeast spice working in the back, adding near-vegetal astringency. Expected this to be much more well-rounded, dulcet, complex - especially after having the thick Quadrocinno version fresh on cask at BBF 2013. Would make sense to BA this basic version to smooth out & add some more depth for its ethanolic buck.
