COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Pours a pale cloudy yellow with a big frothy heady. The head mellows any aroma but the taste and mouthfeel are light.

The head is unstable. It smells fruity-sweet and malty. The taste is hoppy, sandy-bitter. The aftertaste is unbalanced and strange in a negative way. I don´t like it 7/5/5/5/8/5

Koelschtrinker (10833) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 26, 2011

Medium white head. Yellow body. Faint grassy aroma. Dry strawy grainy taste with earthy resiny notes. Soft, mild, smooth mouthfeel. Light body. Dryish minty strawy taste with light fruity grassy notes. Nice, subtle, harmonic, easy to drink. (0.5l bottle, Kaufland, Leipzig.)

Bottled. Clear golden, brief head. Grassy and salty. Dry, yet fruity. Medium bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Sligh salty bitterness. A very basic beer without flaws or finesses.

pivnizub (8920) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAY 2, 2010
Bottle: Golden, very slowly collapsing white foamy head; light to moderate papery-grainy nose with a faint hoppy background; light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied, quite soft; slightly lingering smooth, but watery malty and bitter finish. The taste of the German Democratic Republic, oh no.................

bierkoning (10381) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - MAR 26, 2010
Bottle from Kappldav123, thanks! Blonde. Just a touch of malt in the aroma. Malty bready flavor with orange notes. Low on hopbitterness, more like a Bavarian export. Just OK, this former DDR cult beer.

MoritzF (8562) - Bochum, GERMANY - NOV 21, 2009
(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a solid blond foamy head. Moderately sweet and slightly grainy malty aroma with notes of draff and citrus-fruity and slightly herbal hops. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a crispy mouthfeel. Slightly strawy and minimal grassy malty taste with chalky notes and a tinge of citrus; quite dry, slightly malty and herbal, subtle fruity finish. Surely a lo better than the old GDR swill. 21.XI.09
