Cask gravity, The Wellington, Brum, 23/04/11. Appropriately named on Bennett’s when you’re between trains. Brilliant with a good persistent white foam. Sweet aroma like strawberry peppered with ground coriander seed. Pale husk and perfumey coriander; good underpinning bitterness, lunch box left in the sun. Disjointed bitterness. Ultimately disappointing.

Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, day 2, on 1 May 2009. Gold. Slight haze. No head. No condition. Somewhat clammy aroma. Touches of citrus on the palate. Serviceable but not particularly distinctive. Not in great nick though.

Cask at Ascot Festival 2010. Pours a real gold colour with plenty of citrus and hops, in the aroma. The finish was a dry and a touch bitter. A well made beer.

Cask conditioned at Moreton in Marsh Beer Fest ’10. Gold with white head. Initial farmy nose, quite sulphery, but this adds to the depth with a vague saltiness. Then lots of hoppy bitterness with a pleasing freshness, long on the finish, pretty decent.

(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 4 Aug 2010) Golden colour with brief, white head. Fruity nose with apricots and orange. Fruity taste with notes of citrus, apricots and orange. Rather thin body, with balanced sweetness and a short, citrussy finish. Not very exciting, but decent and fairly refreshing.
