A robust, full-bodied porter, dark & rich with a deep red hue. Brewed with a hearty portion of chocolate malt in addition to added roasted malts. Northern Brewer & Willamette hops balance out the final character of this rich & hearty ale.

Pours with a dark brown body with red tinting topped by a thin to medium thick head with some lacing. Itís slightly sweet and malty with a slight roasted coffee note and a nice coffeeeish finish. Both the flavor and aroma seem a little weak. Medium bodied and smooth.

On tap at the brewpub in Prescott where it pours with a nice mahogany looking body that has deep red edges and supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up sweetness mixed with chocolate and caramel malts as well as a thin ribbon of dark roasted maltiness. The taste delivers malts and a slight molasses sweetened dark roasted maltiness as well as a pleasing layer of chocolate. It then picks up sweetened coffee and a dash of brownie laced with a wafer thin layer of black licorice. This is a nice robust porter where the above average sweetness is balanced nicely by the roasty malt bill.

Aroma of sweet buttery goodness with some roast. This isnít a good beer, it is prevalent with a buttery profile. The roast masks it slightly, but it worsens as it warms up. This wasnít a good one.

Review from notes: 12oz on top in a pint glass A - Dark brown color, small fleeting head that sinks quickly and has little to no lacing. S - Dark coffee, roasted malts, sweet, almost smokey, hints of sweet vanilla. T - Decadent roasted malts, sweet coffee, firm bitterness from leafy green hops, vanilla, burnt raisins, thin molasses, residual brown sugars, finish is long and bitter with dark chocolate popping out once warm. M - Silky and thin but good, creamy but light, low carbonation, bitter finish. Good stuff here. One of the best beers from this brewery. This would go good with fish and chips as well as a desert beer. Good hop bitterness with a sweet roast to balance it out. Serving type: on-tap 09-15-2013

Dark mahogany color, clear-ish, with a medium head and good lacing/adhesion. Warm, full-bodied, good balance for the style. Nice malt blend, not too hopped or burnt like some others Iíve had recently. Itís kind of a standard porter, but itís done very well, I really like it!

On tap at Prescott Brewing Very dark but clear mahogany with an exceptionally durable tan head. Nice blotches of sticky laving are left behind on the glass. Lightly aromatic with sweet caramel and roasted malts. Very good sweet/bitter balance but too little flavor, especially dark roasted malts. Medium body, with enough carbonation to make it feel a bit lively. O: great look and feel, but too little flavor and aroma.

From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center Denver 18/09/2010 Some fruit aroma. Mid brown coloured and a little rich on the palate with a dry chocolate roast finish.

I had this while on holiday in Arizona. I honestly was not impressed with this. My wife had their IPA, which was much better. It poured a crimson brown, with small tan head. Watery mouthfeel, with a slight hop presence. I suppose this would qualify as a good session beer, but itís just not for me.

I am guessing this is what was poured at the AZ strong fest under a different name? It poured a super dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is all chocolate here. Tons of chocolate syrup and a light roasted flavor light up the tongue. I liked it.
