Tried at the Royal Hop Pole, Twekesbury. Dark Amber brown, with a tan foamyhead. Very light aroma of fruit. The taste has light coffe and cocoa, with dark fruit, and a touch of toast.

Cask at the Seven Stars, Bristol on 23 Nov. Poured a dark ruby, with a light haze and a tiny, off white head. Aroma of spice, dried fruit and dark malt. Fruity flavours, with some cake and rye. Finish was chewy grain, Marmite and dark fruit.

Cask, handpump at The Old Green Tree, Bath, Saturday 25th January 2014 Pours dark brown a little chestnut in colour I guess, not much in the way of a head. More of a fruity stout than a rich stout in my opinion, in fact until I just read the description I wouldnít have even guessed it was a stout. One of those beers that you just drink without giving it too much thought. A bit boring but overall ok. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Cask conditioned at The Lamb & Flag, Oxford. Dark brown with ruby hue and slight cream head. This begins with a sweet, grainy flavour, not really the richly roasted notes that were expected. Some plum and strawberry hints in the flavour, sweet biscuit, a touch earthy. Ok.

Cask at the Belle Vue, High Wycombe. Dark brown with a moderate creamy head. Sweet from the start; brown sugar is dominant, with some chocolate too. Roasted malts make an appearance late in the day and donít quite balance it. Maybe a little thin too. Pleasant enough but rather on the sweet side for me.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 26/11/2012. Dark brown with red undertones and a decent, off-white head. Sweet, berry fruits and caramel aroma with some milk chocolate. Flavour had more chocolate and fruit, with a sweet edge leading to a dryish, slightly roasty finish. Good.

Cask at Barnton Cricket Club Beer Festival 18/11/2012 Classic stout, dry, roasted malts witrh a hint of chocolate, a great example of the style
