Bottle shared with McTapps. A crime to humanity as this one is extremely dull, bit dry and absolutely tastes like nothing. Maybe this one is a different when drunken in hot Caribbean summers but today I’d say I hate it. Awful.

McTapps (1487) - Ruhrgebiet, GERMANY - DEC 8, 2012
Bottle shared with MichaelBruch. Another lager from a "new" RB country for me and honestly they are all the same. You know what you get. Mild citrus fruits aroma, grass, hay, rice hints. Very light but refreshing.

Balboa still seems to come up on top of my trashy Caribbean lagers survey in Panama. But only just so - Presidente is the second most drinkable beer down here. I remember it being especially tolerable in the booty-shake mid-afternoon carwash/reggaeton clubs in Dominican Republic. Definitely better than the slightly cheaper alternative when I was ripping around the country.

This beer reminds me of my first home brew. Lots of head and soft carbonation. It tastes unfiltered and is flavourful but not complex. Light body, caramel, and a long citrus aftertaste. Its too creamy and sweet for a hot beach but would go well with a dessert or evening of t.v. Certainly better than most Caribbean lagers. At least in Grenada this might be the best pale beer to be had :(

Kita (422) - Koper, SLOVENIA - OCT 28, 2012
Bottled, 0.33l. Clear deep golden color with large frothy white head and soft carbonation. Aroma of malt, grassy hops, butter and dimethyl sulfide. Taste starts with sweet malt and cooked vegetables, then followed slight sourish fruity and finished with pleasant spiciness and light bitterness. Light body, thin to slick texture and soft carbonation in palate. Average in "international terms", but I liked it very much...

Bottle. Pours clear medium yellow with a small fizzy white head. Aroma is grain, corn syrup, grass. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, crisp and not too bad.

(old notes) Pours a clear straw yellow with a now-you-see-it head. a lot of corn and a little flowery on the nose. Flavor is a little sweet, bread and more corn. Dry, slightly bitter finish.

Drank this on a hot Aruban night, and it was very good. Lots of adjunct flavor, and very light. It has a terrible rating on here but in the right time and place, very drinkable.

12-oz green long neck. Pours clear pale yellow into a pint glass. Nice white head is quickly gone leaving some lace. Smells like a typical adjuct lager - corn with some grassy hops. Malt is missing in both aroma and taste. Lively carbonation. Dried my mouth pretty bad. Light body. Nothing interesting here. some veggie aftertastes (asparagus).

It’s the President of beers. Enjoy it outside a colmado in Santo Domingo. It will be hot out and there may or may not be electricity. No matter, they’ll serve it to you in a frosty bottle. It will go down cold and delicious. It will be the best beer you’ve ever had. Chris Kelley - Framingham.
