Bottle.[Tasting session @ yespr, thanks for a great evening Jesper] Average fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Spare lacework. Clear light sparkling body with a yellow colour. Aroma of light grass and hint of cardboard. Watery sweet malty notes. Light bodied with a soft carbonation and light dry texture. Light sweet and bitter flavour. Light dry and bitter finish.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours a transparent yellow with a tiny fizzy head that’s gone in no time at all. Lacing? Pfft, this is just water. Aroma is skunky corn and nothing else. Same with the flavor. Watery, kinda drinkable I guess, surely for getting hammered and NOTHING else.

I tried both Presidente and Presidente light while doing volunteer work in the Dominican Republic in San Jose De Ocoa
the beer is stored there in freezers that often stop working due to power outages therefore they sweat than when the freezer kicks back in the bottle freezes and is enclased in ice. To get to the point, when your doing volunteer work that includes heavy labor in the hot sun all day you want something ice cold, refreshing and slushy. That’s what Presidente provided because it’s not strong (at all), it’s light can be skunky when exposed to the sun, it’s refreshing, very fizzy and great on a hot day and A VERY GOOD ALTERNATIVE TO WATER considering us foreigners have bad effects to the water there. I drank it every day for the entire month I was there working.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2008 This is a Dominican beer sold as a midpriced import. It is rarely available in good beer shops, but bodegas often have it. It has the same unpleasant odor that you find in Yanqui macrobrews. It is very fizzy, perhaps as a way to stimulate the nerves in the mouth and distract from the weak flavor. Like its American cousins, the stuff does not taste bad, it just doesn’t taste like much. It should sell for less than it does; or perhaps it should not be imported at all, since it does not offer anything that is not already available in every gas station and supermarket in the land.

Lousy, lousy beer. I didn’t have very high expectations, yet I was still disappointed. Pretty much tastes like nothing, and what little flavor there is, isn’t good.

Can. Pours a clear golden colour with a medium short lasting white head. Aroma of straw and grains with some hops. rather thin mouthfeel. The flavour has hay, some grains, bitter hops and some sweetness. Short bit sweet hay bitter finish.

Wow... when you drink this in lieu of the water there, i guess it wouldn’t be long before you’d try a bottle. I had this over my New Year’s trip to DR. It was a harsh lager, much in line with my mouth memory of a Heineken. A little grain taste (malt) but nothing much else. Very fizzy over carbonated head and bitters depending on if it was fresh and how it was stored and transported. Um, well, at least I had it in the country of origin.
