2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Golden pour, nice white head. Even taste, some mild carbonation. Great strong finish for the style. My personal favorite desert island vacation beer.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Can/Draft-Dominican Republic. Maybe it was the hot white sand or the tropical environment but I found this beer remarkably refreshing. Rich golden body with a thin white head. Classified by the locals as a pilsner, this was the only beer available on the resort but another was not needed. Excellente!

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle. Pours very thin with a minute, yet frothy head. Very pale in color, urine-ish. Smells of hopps and yeast. Flavor is simple. Dry to the palate. I wouldn’t want to savor this beer again, but drinking it is fine.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Golden color, white head. Weak malt but strong hop aroma. Tastes quite hoppy and dry. Not great, there are much better pale lagers out there.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottled(355ml). -Pale golden coloured, small airy white head, medium carbonation, skunky nose. Weak malty and strong corny aroma with notes of hay and rice. Dry finish. Quite weak but certainly better than three Venezuelans that I’ve tried week before.

2.1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz bottle on south beach. As far as pilsners go middle of the road, but as far as what I expected from a Dominican beer very good. Its got a corn taste but not as bad as some mexican beer. The value of this beer is very good.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2007 Actually, a bit better than I expected. From the bottle (come on, it is a pale lager). I’m having it pretty cold. Flavors are mostly sour with a bit of bitterness: canned corn, with a hint of sucking on quarters taste. I had two worse green bottle beers from Europe in the last 24 hours. Wow...drink fast, those corn and quarters flavors get worse with temperatures

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2006 I’m sure this brew tastes better if you are in the DR on the beach in Puerto Plata or walking in Santo Domingo. At my lattitude, this stuff is a last chance thirst quencher.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JUL 23, 2013 When you get this stuff fresh in Dominican Republic on tap, it’s not a horrible Pale Lager. Fresh aroma of pale malts and doughy white bread notes, Silky light body. Light flavor with a soft white bread pale malt note and it remains fairly dry. Soft grassy hops on the back, Definitely drinkable when fresh, especially when it doesn’t have the skunky aspect of light damaged bottle versions.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
A very skippable beer, but one of very few options in the Dominican Republic.
I agree that the Presidente in the D.R. tastes better than the imported version in the US. It is stronger as well.
This is a light lager with a weak bitter taste and often comes out of the bottle somewhat flat. OK as a mild beer to accompany food.
