Surprisingly didn’t like this stuff as much as it’s lighter brother. This is perhaps the first light/heavy pair that I have preferred in such an order. The main difference between Presidente and Presidente Light, I’d say, is a honey sweetness the malts have; though unfortunately this only brings out the sour flavor of the malt. Stick with the light stuff, it comes in bigger bottles anyway.

Reminded me of Heineken. My brother thought it should be called Domeineken. Skunky, soapy head, boiled cabbage flavor. Skip.

Jan. 27, 2016; bottle in the Bahamas this past weekend. Nothing memorable here, but nothing offensive either. Would have one again here...after all, it would be completely wrong to have a IIPA or stout in the islands (if you could find one). Such snobbery is best suspended until one’s inevitable return to winter evenings, huddled in scratchy sweaters before Northern fireplaces.

Bottiglia.

On tap at the hotel in Juan Dolio, D.R. The carbonation was so high the bartender had to dump off the first 2 glasses (they were all foam) befoer being able to bring you a properly filled glass (and several more in succession for other beer drinkers close by) Clear yellow appearance with a thin, fizzy white head that was rather short-lived. This beer seems best had very cold. The aroma is of sweet corn, malt, grass, and a hint of citrus that transforms to skunk in a wet cardboard box as it warms up under that Caribbean sun. The taste (sweet corn, malt, subtle honey and light bitter) also transforms to pure skunk and the watery body really comes through with the warming up. Not fit for human consumption unless ice-cold
