Pale golden coloured. Sweetish, corn aroma, clean, low bitterness. This is really not a beer to sip on, but works as a thirstquencher

Tastes like so many other brews from central america or the carribean. Nothing special here. Pale yellow with a thin fizzy head. Kind of watery. I guess it wouldn't be bad if you were drinking it in the sweltering heat.

Grainy aroma and taste. Sweet, quite fresh. Some malts, little hop. Not really great.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2005 Re-Rate July 1 2005. Can. In substantially better shape than the bottle I sampled. Pale yellow, smallish white head. Vegetal corny (?) aroma mixed with grain and muted hops. Similar flavour, little less corn in the flavour. Remind me of a slightly less malty Heineken actually. Meh. Uninspired but I could knock back a few on the beach if given the opportunity. 5/3/5/2/10 <P> Original Rating Bottle. Courtesy or Mssr. Poirier. Pale macro yellow with a small white head diminishes fast. Bit hops if grainy and or mildly skunky.Touch of bitterness, fairly watery. I also have a can from the Mattecky Honeymoon in the fridge, perhaps it will have fared better on the trip.

Brought back from my wife’s grandparents on their trip to the Dominican Republic. Canned version. Pours a fizzy straw yellow. Very "sickly" looking. Aroma is kind of sweet ith light corn notes, some metallic hints (why do most cans of swill have that metallic scent?), and watery grass. Body is seltzer-like with lots of carbonation and a lightly chalky feel. Finishes with light straw, some corny notes, and a spalsh of bitterness. Could be worse.

Present from ex workmates who had visited Dominican Republic...it was pretty boring stuff actually, bland and well, BORING! Very little in the way of flavour or nose.

Hmm, well, at first pop, I was ready to start trashing this one, with its big skunky nose. But after a minute, the skunk blew off, leaving a slightly sulfury and spicy hop nose. Very pale gold color, big fizzy head but it faded fast. Near bland, with slight breadiness and a hint of hops.

33cl bottle poured into pint glass. Pours out the normal pale lager colour familiar worldwide. Almost no aroma, maybe a little grain. Very thin, watery body with bland taste.

Wow... when you drink this in lieu of the water there, i guess it wouldn’t be long before you’d try a bottle. I had this over my New Year’s trip to DR. It was a harsh lager, much in line with my mouth memory of a Heineken. A little grain taste (malt) but nothing much else. Very fizzy over carbonated head and bitters depending on if it was fresh and how it was stored and transported. Um, well, at least I had it in the country of origin.
