Backlog rating. Bottle from Sourced Market, London. It pours a hazy amber color with a medium white head. Aroma is yeasty with spices and banana notes, surrounded by campfire and ashes. Taste is medium sweet upfront with yeast and banana, then more spices, wood smoke and ashes to give the beer a drier bitter finish. Medium body with lively carbonation. Good.

330ml bottle from Drygate, Glasgow (4.8% abv on the bottle label) - clear brown, lively beige head, peat smoked malt dominates the aroma and flavour, no lacing, carbonation just on the high side, dry malty finish

330 ml bottle bought for me by my loving wife on one of her London trips and I wish she hadnít bothered.Just awful. Flat and headless. Smelt like the aftermath of a rubbish fire, and tasted like licking an aluminium ashtray then swigging TCP. Donít get the higher ratings: Perhaps something wrong with this bottle, or a case of emperors new clothes?

Bottle from Oddbins, Blackheath. Dark amber pour with a beige head. Bags of smoke in the aroma with some raisin and chocolate. Flavours of smoked salmon, raisin and dark fruit. Smoky finish. Quite nice.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark opaque chestnut brown pour with a big frothy off white head, smoke peat aroma, taste is very smokey with some other flavours trying to get noticed but failing, the only other taste is plain chocolate, also the beer has some soapy mouthfeel. Not for me this one.

Bottled 26/07/14. A hazy dark chestnut coloured beer with a whitish head/ A decent dunkelweizen. Nice wheaty and banana notes and a hint of chocolate. A touch of unwanted sourness in the mouth. Itís nice enough though.

Bottled, 330ml from Oeno, Cirencester, Gloucs. Really dark brown with cream head. There is a damp bonfire aroma on opening, wet squabs, this leads to quite a charry flavour, a little raw perhaps then a dry bitter chocolate note. Not a beer to relax to but it does challenge the taste buds.

330ml bottle from Drygate. Dark brown, big foamy head. Sweet flowery chocolate aroma. Smokey rubber flavour. Sweet and unusual. Not a typical dunkelweiss more a smoked dunkel.
