Everyone likes a pale ale and we’re no different. We like to mix up the aroma hops a bit and you will find that Pale Fire comes in different versions sometimes. We have hopped with Mosaic and Amarillo, Amarillo and Citra, Nelson Sauvin and others including the legendary Hop X, an English trial-hop being developed by Dr Peter Darby at Wye Hops.

Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras, 4.8 % ABV, no hops on the label, BB 12.01.17, lar ge sample. Hazy golden color, medium rocky head. Aroma of lots of citrus, mango, grapefruit, slight caramel and toffee. Grapefruity bitterness, bit stone fruit, slight grassy. Quite dry and that makes the bitterness even a bit harsh. But the strong hoppy aroma makes up for that. Good one.

Pours a hazy yellow to orange with a thin white head, soft carbonation and a touch of lacing. Aroma is marmelade, mango, lemon and a nice light caramel. Taste is quite bitter with a nice mouthfeel from the wheat and decent body for the ABV accompanied with a good medium finish. All in all, pleasant and drinkable pale ale.

Big white head. Clear coppery body. Citric resiny aroma with gooseberry notes. Clean and fresh. Dry-sweet citric gooseberry taste with resiny floral notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, chalky mouthfeel. Dryish orangey gooseberry aftertaste with lime and flour notes. Nice, fresh, drinkable. (0.33l bottle from somewhere in London. Label doesn’t say what hops. 4.8%)
