Bottled; Regular. ABV varies.
NOTE: As explained by the brewery in the commercial description, this beer is often made to varying recipes with different hops. Please make sure you put your review under the correct entry. The hops used are clearly identified on the label so there’s no excuse!

Everyone likes a pale ale and we’re no different. We like to mix up the aroma hops a bit and you will find that Pale Fire comes in different versions sometimes. We have hopped with Mosaic and Amarillo, Amarillo and Citra, Nelson Sauvin and others including the legendary Hop X, an English trial-hop being developed by Dr Peter Darby at Wye Hops.

Flasche, leicht trübe, golden, bernsteinfarben. Kaum Schaumkrone. Duft nach Maracuja, Ananas, Papaya, honig- Süße, leichte nadelige Noten. Geschmack erst floral, dann etwas Maracuja, harzig, nadelig. Trockenes Mundgefühl. Bittere kommt leicht im Abgang, Geschmack bleibt nicht lange bestehen.

Bottle 330ml (AbM, 4.8%)
Hazy amber-orange color, decent off-white head. Strong gooseberry bush and citrus in the nose. Light to medium-bodied. Front has lots of Nelson Sauvin kiwi fruityness, then some gooseberry and citrus. Some kind of yeastyness in the flavor. Ok.

(Draught at Mother Kelly’s, Bethnal Green, London, 28 Nov 2014) Hazy golden amber colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, peaches and grassy, floral hops. Fruity, malty taste with citrus, peaches, biscuity malt and a fresh, floral bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Fresh and tasty, quite drinkable. Nice one. (There were absolutely no signs of labels stating the hops included in this batch, so I’ll put it here for now.)

330ml bottle from Beer Dock. 4.8% and no mention on the bottle which hop combination this is. Very aromatic, zingy pale. A little in your face but very good.

21/XI/14 - on tap @ Mother Kelly’s (London) - BB: n/a (2014-1361)

Note: I’m just gonna assume I had the "regular" version, it was on tap and the bartender had no clue about different versions. So there IS an excuse, I guess. :p
Clear orange beer, small creamy off-white to yellow head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet ripe fruits, bit sugary, mango, some caramel. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, some mango, sweet caramel, almost ripe banana, bit cheesy, nice bitterness. Aftertaste: grapefruit, cheesy touch, pretty bitter, fruity, citrus. Very loveable!

330ml bottle: BBD 8/12/15. drank at Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury on 26/11/14. Light amber with a mini-haze and a small white head. Hoppy aroma, with citrus, tropical fruits, and some pine esters. The taste was bitter and citrus led with an undertone of tropical fruitiness: dry finish to this brew.

Keg @ the Fox, Haggerston. Golden and slightly sparkling. Piney resiny hop, apple and white spirit aroma. Bittersweet followed by a massively hoppy bitterness. Long bitter finish. Not my best review but I’m drunk and I don’t do backlog. Mark my words this is proper stuff.

330ml bottle from Lions Den, Yarm. Hazy orange amber with a white head and aroma of fragrant tropical fruits & citrus hops. Flavour is malt caramel with fruity mango and juicy orange rind citrusy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry tangy hoppy bitter finish. Very drinkable APA.

Keg at Draft House. It may well have specified the hops, but I obviously wasn’t paying attention. Cloudy orange, opaque, small white head. Aroma has some light orange peel. Body is medium, spritzy carbonation, not foamy. Taste is citrussy soda water, hay, light bitterness. Nice enough APA.
